Awesome - congrats to the city of Long Beach and both ports! Huge project - amazing suspension bridge will help showcase the whole area! As a kid I remember being amazed at Herman the German crane - and this is another great milestone that will be here for long after we’re all gone. Can’t wait to ride my motorcycle over it and back!! 👌🏼✊🏼🇺🇸✊🏾

I remember back when there was only a pontoon bridge and during low tide you might drive 20 feet below street level. Like everything else designed in CA, by the time the original bride was completed, it was outdated. This time it looks like they've got it right.

I also remember crossing that bridge when we would take my dad back to his ship USS Griddley at the Naval base.

Too bad they didn't film actual trips eastbound and westbound over the bridge so we could see what the actual trips in each direction (say, between the 710 and Anaheim St. to Jct CA-47/CA-103) looked like.

I thought this bridge was to be beautifully illuminated at night? I see nothing but headlights. I can see it from my apartment, and I've looked forward to it for years. :(

Anybody know when the pedestrian/bike path will open? Finding the entrance was a bear, and a bit dangerous. When I finally found it, the entrance was blocked by a fence.
