Even getting 4th he had a remarkable run. I didn't expect him to be THAT clutch- he won like 5-6 final final round situations against the best in the world starting all the way from LCQ
All the anti rang betas need to pick up rang and try to “mash” like edge. The fact that he makes it look easy is astonishing. He’s basically optimizing almost every situation on the fly. Not only does he have to pay attention to his opponent but also what stance he’s in and apply the proper move. Let’s not forget the input execution. Plus if you know the match up you can interrupt/launch him mid string.
are there any pakistani hwaorangs? i feel like numan might be missing some matchup knowledge here. even if he is, he still played very well, this set came down to the wire
@ yes there are a few very good rangs in Pakistan. The problem is that edge is not flowcharting or using strings that often. Most of his offense was on the fly reads and adjustments. It’s very hard to. Even as a rang main I have to slow it down and try to understand what he’s doing and more importantly why. He just makes it look VERY EASY. Numan was jut outplayed plain and simple.
This set displays just how badly they nerfed Steve in Tekken 8. No matter how many buffs that LH stance gets it's nowhere near what Steve's df2 B2 and other Ch launchers were. Even Hwaorang whose a kick specialist is out boxing and punching around Steve in Tekken 8. Numan has to spend every single resource just to get boss hwaorang down to 70% but all Edge has to do is do a few pokes or strings and it's GGs perfect for Edge. Outfox looks like a very evasive whiff punish based stance but it gets easily interrupted by jabs or long range heat engagers from hwaorang. Fengs Reverse kenpo has true evasion.
Nah. He's quite strong now it's just his execution has always been high. To pull numan steve requires hours of practice and knowledge. Think they'll keep him as "hard to master" up there with Kaz, Bryan, Devil Jin etc
It's a good direction, you mean Steve doesn't eternally spam the same moves since forever? I'd take it. It just needs some tuning, but it's a fresh take. When S2 nerfs the top tiers, maybe we can finally see midtier Steve in Top 4s again
I can already see the patch notes: „Hwoarang performed to well at the latest tournaments, so we’re making some adjustments.“ Just because Edge is carrying Hwo so hard :(
Hwaorang is a balanced character, he is just so annoying to play against like Zafina. It's more like Edge was almost untouchable this world tournament.
What’s the requirements for the running armor shoulder tackle? I thought you had to be far as hell from your opponent to get that running shoulder tackle 1:52
i am not 100% sure, but I think Edge uses this a lot. It seems to have something to do with manually switching stances before starting to run. He always switches to right foot forward (RFF), and the run starts quicker because of it, I think.
DEFINITELY going to do a 🥊Boxer-SPECIALIST Deep Dive on this match on my channel, the FEAR0fSilence match is already done if any ASPIRING Boxers are interested in the slow play-by-play at the HIGHEST Level 💪🏽
Every Steve match feels like a boss fight for Steve in Tekken 8 even with the best players piloting him. He's a 2 button punch only character so by default his mix ups are average. Too many Ch launchers nerfed so all he has is b1 and it's bad range. Terrible non existent heat throws that can be broken or heat smash that does average damage. Terrible combos damage. Every character is out boxing Steve in Tekken 8 because of removed Ch launchers. If this was T7 or hell even t6 Steve players would think twice throwing a jab at Steve due to the threat of B2 df2 but here Steve is just spending everything to do the same amount of damage that even the high tiers do with their average strings poking and combos. Steve's never been broken to be so criminally nerfed. This is truly criminal
That heat smash needs a nerf. Bro already has crazy damage. He cant also have a heat smash with good tracking and wall splats. That heat smash tracking is literally the reason he wasnt eliminated by arslan ash.
Today at least half of my matches were against Xiaoyu, my day was miserable and i officialy want this character to be killed by nerfs, even thou she is not considered top tier, she just pisses me off till no end, i would rather spending all day fighting Alisa. It has nothing to do with the video, but i need to talk about It in somewhere 😅 Cool vídeo btw
I find it very unfair that some characters have wall splatting heat smashes. Yall have the privilege to get free 60% damage by just pressing a button. 0 execution
It depends on the stage, players who have ground breaking heat smash are broken on the stratosphere but I understand your point, either everyone should have it or no one.
@ yeah but it’s a lot of characters in the game that have a 50/50 after heat smash is blocked but I only heihachi is certain death if you guess wrong 🤣 I call em mr. 2 touch
how do people know notations of characters they dont play? do they try them all out? i understand learning the match up and recognising the moves. but to see a move and know that its UF3 sounds super human to me.
@@greedy_arts3807 I hope this comes from a place of ignorance and not opinion. It’s easy to downplay it as mashing because he’s doing a lot of moves, but if you think you can mindlessly mash with Hwoarang you have a fundamental misunderstanding about the character. And that’s absolutely a symptom of the term “mashing” being overused to the point where almost meaningless. Don’t get me wrong though I like all players find Hwoarang completely insufferable at times, but defending against him isn’t as difficult as some people like to claim. Learning the matchup is very difficult but once you know it you’ll be stomping 90% of Hwo players with your eyes closed.
If edge had won the tournament, it would have been a legendary run
Every match he played in top 8 was incredible
Dude KICKED out (badums) 2/3 Pakistan best players, this was probably best matches I've ever seen.
Even getting 4th he had a remarkable run. I didn't expect him to be THAT clutch- he won like 5-6 final final round situations against the best in the world starting all the way from LCQ
he’s playing hwoarang. it would have not been respected at all 😂😂
I guess you could say we'd all... edge.. to that
Watching high level Steve play always gets me smiling for some reason. Like watching top counter-striker in MMA or boxing.

Funny how some of Hwoa's best moves are using his fists.
I've watched this match at least 4 times, still one of the best matches of the TWT, top 5 at least
same bro i had to watch it over and over 👀
It's a great match to see, i understand you 💯 !

Watching a top level Steve makes Steve look like he’s S+ tier
Watching Edge get as far as he did live, at his FIRST tournament, was wild.
Whenever Hworang is in heat.. he is thinking of Jin 😊

Seriously tho 4 jins in top 16 is kinda alarming.
@@wantu7816 and I sadly believe that this won’t change for a long while, just because he‘s the main character 🥲
@@mirvzdnb Atleast all 4 of those were long time Jin mains unlike most of those Dragunov pros who picked him up only in T8.
What a combo by Nauman

WHEN IS GRAND FINALS REACTION?
havent seen any talk about Rangchu !!😂😂😂
We need to see the reaction to the bear victory. 😤
"Clean small tekken" = Ultra super spam .. Got it😎
By that, tmm means no combos, only natural game, you know you can't win just because of combos, you have to out play your opponent
5:28 DAM LMAO my guy was not happy
Best Steve in Pakistan would still be Heera Malik, he only recently became able to play in tournys again
i like small tekken😎
small tekken is the real tekken

hwoa is not balanced. no one should have a 10f CH launcher ever in tekken

Depends on the character in my opinion, I play with Reina and Heihachi

The lab is real in tekken. Rivaling Heisenberg.
love how tmm calls edge the best hwoarang in the world when this was edge’s first global tournament appearance
really? i saw him back then in t7 a lot on tournaments
K Wiss routinely calls him the best Hwoarang in the world as well.

It is a small tekken when it comes to fundamentals and poking lmao, what u talking about
Brain dead tekken you mean
Tekken 8 Steve is 💩 in tournaments
Agree. Hworang is really balance and honest character, he is like "hey this is my kick, you either respect it. Or get launched to the roof"
Having played tekken since t3 and he was always me tough one to fight. Seeing him in this with heat is pretty nice to see.
No rangchu's run commentary? really??
Why do you call "small Tekken" to literally Tekken? Everybody is doing this and it's awful, people forgot what Tekken is or what.
15 views 1 minute ago? Seems like TMM fell off.
Who came up with this and where are they so I can banish them to the shadow realm?
