I was hyped by Generation Shift Inca, but unfortunately once I read the cards I realized that doesn't work. Generation shift destroys first, then adds a card second. Technically this isn't explicit on the Edison printing, but unless there's some old ruling lying around (which seems unlikely since this is a pretty obscure card), it seems safer to go with the modern text rather than assume it worked differently. Also, I'm no expert on pre-problem solving card text, but two sentences seems pretty sequential to me, anyway. All the Inca stuff is, and has always been, "when... you can" effects.
