Indeed. Thats why I try my best to stay away from processed food, consume vegetables, fruits and tea rich with antioxidants and drink plenty of water. Plus i wear sunscreen everyday, even when i am indoors.

If you've never experienced it you won't get it. Not being able to get in a nightclub because they think you're underage. Being pregnant with people giving you dirty looks and making nasty comments because they think you're a teen mother. People giving your husband dirty looks because they think he knocked up an underage child. Even when they realize you're married and wearing a ring they still drop comments. All those things have happened to one of my girlfriends. I don't look quite that young but have had plenty of experience with guys way younger than me trying to hit on me. And it isn't appreciated cause I prefer older men. My mother had the experience of a man accusing her of lying about her age and he became hostile because she turned down his advances. It isn't all it's cracked up to be. Being viewed as younger also means being disrespected by people who think you are still a child. Would I go to a support group for It? No. But it means having to infuse a lot more authority in the way you speak and carry yourself so that people (hopefully) realise they're dealing with a mature adult. It also doesn't help if you sound young in the voice which many of us do.

Gonna be 53 next month..... I've started refraining from telling most people my real age because it can be very awkward. Especially when they're your age, but talking to you like you're a 20 something.... Also awkward when you're talking to someone whose aged significantly more than you have and you can see in their eyes the discomfort.... It's just not a pleasant experience.

Thank goodness! I have finally found a group of women who suffer as I do! I am 53 and people still think I’m in my 20s. It’s a blessing and a curse.. I need ID everywhere I go! I can’t get into clubs. When I was 40 years old, I couldn’t even by alcohol at the supermarket because I had no ID on me and the cashier would not serve me. Highly embarrassing!

It’s such a blessing and a curse. Young guys keep hitting on me and guys who are young but pass as older keep lying about their age to get me to compromise. And people in professional settings treat you like you’re a child and think you’re going to deal with the disrespect because they assume young people will not speak up for themselves 🙄.

@@BB-xn5ho no I started at 20. I wish I did start before. I was from venezuela and naturally pale person but I wanted to look tanned like my cousins. Then I learned about the UVA and UVB and how it breaks downcollagen so I quit tanning immediately and started spf 30. I think I was able to reverse some of the damage.i have been wearing spf very religiously and applying every 2 hours. In the summer I wear hats and try to be super careful.i look very pale like goth but I use bronzer so people don't comment lol
I think its never too late to start SPF but some damage can be too far gone once you get saggy skin. But start as early as possible.

Yes, WOC deals w/ this alot also...Asians have commented about our skin, teeth, & nails...An Asian mistaken me for my daughter's friend/sis, I thought for sure she knew I was grown...This was a nursing home she worked at...She said I thought you were a teenager, she was small & young looking also...I have greys coming in that I might cover...Thought leaving the greys in would help, but it hasn't...lol

Yes, I remember that happening to me in Alabama at a church about 12 years back. The female I was conversing with & comparing school graduation dates. Hers a year prior to mine. A colleague of hers came up to us and joined in and said something about the big difference from their time to mine, being I was (she guessed about) 24. The female I was talking to quicky left taking her friend w/ her.

I see looking young for your age as a curse. It’s unpleasant because ppl call you cute names or disregard my feelings or desire to be treated with respect. At times ppl act very overprotective like I can’t look after myself. I rather stay away from ppl because of their daily disrespect towards my appearance.

I was asked for ID when buying alcohol @ 47 years old. I am 49. I have guys in their 20's hitting on me all the time and when I tell them that I could be their mother, they are shocked. I am told constantly that I look like a college student. It is a blessing, but it also has it's negative sides. I get called sweetheart by men and even younger women. I never get treated like an adult, which is very frustrating. Nobody takes me seriously. I also get told on top that I look like a supermodel. I am very thin by nature and have natural long brown hair down to my waste. It's fun to get attention, but sometimes I just want to be invisible and enjoy going to the supermarket without feeling like I don't fit in. My husband looks young too, so we get treated like young adults all the time everywhere we go. It's very bizarre and uncomfortable. We are white.

I'm 46 by the way...My man who is 62yrs, has taken on many of my health & beauty routines...Now he's mistaken as 42ish, by ppl his age & younger...His children are going crazy about how he looks...I can be mistaken for his daughter @ times...I literally have to state my age so as to no be treated like a kid, many times...I also dress casual & no jeans lately, doesn't help much...Being short helps none @ all...Yeah I get the grocery/retail issue too...The more health info I learn & use, the younger I look, lost too much weight in 2-3wks...We are poc...He may not need a support grp, but I seriously do...lol

Susie Dancer I have the answer: stay away from all artificial sugars, even on drink like soda. don’t eat food that is preserve too long like food from Macdonald’s. Don’t use products on your face like makeup that has harsh chemicals or use a baremileras makeup. Don’t use cheep oils to cook your food. The best oil to cook food is aguado 🥑 oil or real cow 🐄 butter. Get your 8 hours of sleep.

I found this a copycat series. It almost look like American series that I usually watch. I mean seriously, can we not copy Americanized style when we Filipino’s have our own ways to show our beauty. Like the way, I went back home to the Philippines. Almost all Filipino are trying to be Americanized or being too Westernized doesn’t show our true identity as a Filipino.
