It took some planning and cutting and using coupons. We always had something to eat but sometimes things seemsd a little unfair. While waiti watching carefully what we had to spend and not being able to afford much meat for my husband and kids it never failed to look over and see a cart loaded down with all kinds of groceries with lots ofpzcks of meat and lots of goodies and we knew how they were going to pay for all that.....yep...food stamps

Only one can isn't enough for more than 2 people, or just 1 person who likes green beans. Frozen would be the most nutritious but we didn't see it to compare the price.

I have diabetes so I need my own menu. Low carb food is not cheap so my Walmart bill got significantly higher. Fortunately I buy coffee on clearance so even though my sugar free or stevia products cost a decent amount, I am not fully broke. (Plus the $0.50-$1.00 bags of sugar free candy I found on clearance)…and $0.25 loaf of low carb bread on clearance from Aldi and occasionally can find keto hot dog buns at the Dollar Tree. Get ham, potatoes, cabbage, onion, carrots, and any other root vegetables you want. Combine all together in a huge pot of water. Boil until the root vegetables are soft. Eat this for several meals, plus you can put vegetables with some cut up ham in a frying pan with some butter to make red flannel hash for breakfast.
With the flavored water add a couple of bags of dry peas and the ham bone boil until peas are soft. Blend and enjoy you pea soup. You can feed a family of six for seven days three meals a day fir 20.00 bucks by making this New England boiled dinner, red flannel hash, pea soup, and you will probably have enough ham for sandwiches to boot.
All these meals are healthy, fresh, cheap.
