- Bua Ji Ke Gehna (बुआ जी के गहना) is an adaptation of Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay's novel, Goynar Baksho revolves around a matriarch of a Bengali Hindu family who becomes so obsessed with her secret jewellery box that she rises from her grave to make sure that her niece-in-law protects it from the other relatives.

Movie ka concept बहुत जबरदस्त हैं, after watching few reels of dis movie I gotta d intuitive nudge to watch d whole movie.. कितना बड़ा msg है इस मूवी में..
1- जो मन की भाव दशा होगी जीते जी और आखरी सांस लेने तक मृत्यु के बाद भी वैसी ही रहेगी और कभी मुक्ती नहीं होगी..
2- आसक्ति किसी भी वस्तु या व्यक्ति से हो तो भी मुक्ती नहीं होगी.. इसीलिए जीते जी मुक्त होना जरूरी हैं और यहीं सनातन धर्म में संन्यास का concept हैं जो सतसंग और ईश्वर के नाम से सुलभ हो जाता हैं..
3- Detachment n acceptance हर परिस्थिति में करना चाहिए.. ये मनुष्य शरीर सिर्फ मुक्ती के लिए ही मिला है, किसी भी दूसरे शरीर में ये संभव नहीं..🙏🕉️🙏

the dubbing of konkona's voice is exceedingly irritating. surely it could have been done in her natural voice. she speaks hindi and has a naturally mellifluous voice. spoilt the film for me.

Great movie, I love Bengali movies but don’t understand Bengali. I’m from N.India
Wached it in bengali years ago without subtitles. Although i could hardly understand the language, still loved the movie. Big fan of bangla movies and literature all along. I wish more and more movies had subtitles for non- bengali viewers❤❤.Always try to find feluda with subtitles. I totally believe the real essence of story goes away with dubbed version.

I have seen that movie also . But brother I personally think this film is exactly a partial reflection of the then socio-economic viewpoint of a girl. Every time a film is made , it reflects the time of that period, that struggle, the condition of society, the thought of the people. This film is not the exception as well.
I also personally think that we should watch an movie with a neutral perspective as if any ideology or viewpoint acts as a philosopher stone to decipher the movie , bios could be emerged. We can't afford that. And thanks to you brother, for initiating such a conversation. Radhe radhe ❤

I very well know what such movies want to convey... every one seems to be just mesmerized by the acting of the actresses, the Bengali home and culture,,,, what about the larger prospective,,, the moral of the story... nobody seems to be bothered about reading in between the lines... what impact would it have on the society,,, how are they justifying extra marital affair, disloyalty, sex without marriage, smoking etc etc... the impact of such immoral messaging is reflecting in the Indian society today... and that is, according to me, far more important than any story, drama, acting or anything.
