This is a textbook opportunity for improvements. For starters, how about better holding devices for the scuba tank. That alone, flying around could have killed the passengers. And how about already have the regulator attached to your vest at all times while in the seat. It didn't look like either passenger went calmly for the air. The feeling of drowning is very powerful and can wash away logical thought.
Now i see why some competitors have difficulties getting out. Worse if their limbs got injured it would be difficult to pull ur self out and remove the sit belt or harness. If u dont got killed first by flying scuba tank. Sorry for my English ✌️
if you play it in slow-mo you can literally see it get cut open probably from him making it go in a werid position when they first hit the water upside-down.
Steve Johnson that’s why every year teams that run canopy boats have to go through what’s a dunker test. So they can know and practice how to react upside down in the water.
What an incredible throttle man! He literally pushed the driver out first to make sure he was OK before he egressed. Whoever you are you’re awesome dude!
Those seats should have NEVER broke loose that that. Whoever built that boat should be ashamed of themselves. That’s bad race boat building there. Dude got tangled up in the oxygen lines for Christ sakes. Really lucky he is still alive.
Planes and spacecraft are put on a rotisserie before being flown to see what will move, come loose or become airborne. Systems, tools, people, all go flying when proper testing isn't done. Being inside of a rock tumbler isnt good. Putting items in the cabin that are heavy and loose is deadly. Really lucky someone wasn't knock unconscious.
at the 1:00 point, is the cabin breached and full of water or is it a weird camera effect? I can see you're wet, but later in the video I see water rush in, but man it looks like the cabin is full here at 1:00.
It's not full of water that fast. You can hear what sounds like a scuba regulator blowing, which may be the haze by the drivers foot area. Full of water around the 1:30 mark.
Full face diving helmet from the start so even if you're trapped or unconscious it won't be instantly fatal, And with safety divers deploying from boats and helicopters you would have a decent chance of getting rescued.
What the HELL!!!!!!! those safety harnesses did absolutely NO!!!!! good. all that money and y’all were flopping around like a fish out of water. But hope your ok. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Daniel Hughes actually they all did their job except for the center one between our legs. It was hooked to the seat instead of the bottom of the boat causing the seats to rip out.
I am a little surprised, actually a lot surprised the scuba tank isnt secured, unless it somehow broke off? Gonna have to ask a friend about that who is the driver of the other boat Allen Lawncare that flipped right beside them. Wasn't the driver when this happened though.
Watching that, if I was racing those boats I’d have a better bracket holding the scuba tank to the chassis, the air on; and I’d have the regulator clipped to my life vest right next to my mouth.
I dont get why there are still people trying to defeat the laws of physics. Its not gonna work. These boats are just made to crash like this and nothing else. But at least this crew survived.

How about properly securing the seats for starts lol

Excellent commentary from the couch. We’ll ring you on the next build for technical oversight

Holy crap! Seats broke loose, air bottle broke loose.... That could have been a LOT worse.
I’m glad they didn’t panic and stayed calm , feeling like you’re drowning after heavy hit is one of the most overwhelming feelings
All things considered, that went incredibly smooth. Lots of areas to learn from, but it almost looked well rehearsed.

Throttle man is the boat owner /Owner of the boat sponsor LPC his construction company.
We were there on the turn 3 boat with the boats coming at us , glad everyone was safe . We'll be there next year!!!
Damn I was there watching it, got pictures of you being towed in. Just happy you guys are ok.

the fact that you caught the other boat flipping is crazy too
0:54 holy crap this leg looks like it just go a red paint-gob line
I'm glad they made it out
Glad they made it out! Wow
Was at the race when this happened scary sight to see but even worse to see the Cockpit footage.
Good Lord that was scary!!!
Man That's Scary...
Throttle Man knew it was comin.......
Thank God they were safe

sinking like a rock
If you look closely you can see how holding the steering wheel doesn't do much. You always want to brace yourself against the ceiling.

Boat next to them flipped also. That's a hell of a hard hit to break the seats loose.
"Ugh, put your seat belt back on...please sir, don't open the door...no...no...NO!" WHAT THE FK, WHAT THE FK...FK!!!
Holy Crap!

In any case, I'm glad you guys are safe, that was some incredible force you took, no doubt the seats failed.

The camera was upside down and it was water dripping from above that look like bubbles rising to the surface
Glad they are ok, but that's racing...
When in offshore racing did it become okay to bump each other to run right on top of each other I don't understand the way you guys race anymore
Think they both flipped at the same time which made it look that way. ruclips.net/video/b3vdXLclQoc/видео.html
The scuba tanks need to be secured. Every crash they go flying, its going to kill somebody
Scary shit!😨

Taking into account the potential for a violent crash, why is there a pole in the middle of the cockpit to smash into.
I think it is a canopy support. Remove that and they’d probably be dead.
Pad it...
damn...violent hit ! Seems like the harnesses should have held them better and that tank flying around... wow. Glad , all are okay.
c warner our seats ripped out, D rings held the harness to the bulkhead
@@lorenpeters6823 , I thought that at first but that is pretty uncommon....shows how hard of a hit. Glad you guys are okay.

@@commanderrussels2612 yes, no padding on the center bar. Loose air tank. Im sure theres alot more too.

I wonder how that scuba tank tasted?
Need to secure the wiring or make it break away
Out...🚤
Terrifying
Have the seat harnesses break away is unacceptable
That unpadded vertical bar isn't a very good idea. Also looked like the seats broke away.
nike airs are designed to catch air
Why these guys don't wear Hans Devices is beyond me
all racing should be mandatory

Yep. I worked in auto racing at the highest level for years. This is so bad
