Taxes for middle and high income citizens in Belgium are the highest in the world and if you take all hidden taxes in account you end up a lot higher than the 50% mentioned here.
The 50% is merely the tax on income and social security payments which are directly deducted from the monthly wages.
Don't think the tension between the French and Dutch speaking population has anything to do with migration.
This is mostly cultivated by politicians and has little to do with the average citizen.

I agree there is no tension between the frech and dutch speaking people in Belgium it's only politics. And where are these people moving then probably neighboring countries. And some old people buying a house in Spain or the south of France for the better weather.

You raise some very valid points about the taxation system in Belgium. It’s definitely important for citizens to be aware of all aspects of their taxes, including those hidden fees that can add up significantly.

19 million from 450 million EU population is 4.2% It is far from "leaving in droves" most of them are moving around inside EU.

At this point, getting any sort of information is a draining process now.
I see people coming up from all corners of the world, saying "(any number, ranging from 1,000 - 1,000,000) are leaving (mentioned country/continent) and would just then explain the issues plaguing them commonly. Like bro, doesn't this prompt a discussion as to how the global issues should be fixed instead of leaving their countries? This takes time, and patience, which unfortunately the system doesn't allow so these days, but something HAS to be done about the issues, because frankly, at the core, they're the same no matter where.

Europeans have always immigrated. Whether within Europe or abroad. It has always happened and will always happen. Now it is also happening to Americans and Australians, after all they are descendants of Europeans. The crisis is general.

A key point this video fails to mention is why housing cost are skyrocketing. Competition from the newly arrived unwanted guest from outside of Continental Europe.

    • @StateSeeker

The impact of external competition on housing costs is definitely a critical factor that deserves more attention.

The reasons behind it are eye-opening. Anyone else rethinking their European dream now?

    • @RR98guy

I Can say I am not rethinking my dream. I moved to Eastern Europe in 2017 and no regrets whatsoever. my new home makes it very difficult to remain here if you entered illegally. Thankfully my new abode has politicians more interested in retaining their culture than those in the western part of the EU. Hence, the cost of living is much lower than in the west.
