Thank you, great information
Glad it was helpful!
Yes this is very helpful. It is good to know when they make the offer, the agency is required to provide an estimate of your retirement payment. Also, in Dec 2024, under the current CR, congress only slipped in a $25k VERA/VISP package. So, the previous approved $40k will not be offered at this time...but like anything else it could change. I am in DoD USAF AFMC and we actually went into a hiring freeze late Nov 2024. Positions are already getting tight. I plan to retire at the end of 2025, but not expecting an offer...my boss is already trying to offer different types of workloads to get me to stay. I am retiring even if they don't offer the VERA/VISP. As a Program Manager in the government, the workload is staggering. Even when I am on leave, I have to login and approve PRs and travel for an hour to two hours a day just to keep up.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this ontime message.
Thanks for watching!
My organization only offered Vera/VSIP to high grade long term employees by invitation. Found this out when an employee issued a goodbye email. I contacted HR and was told he was invited to retire. I was offered nothing.
The amount is way too low and with all the deductions taken out, the "deal" isn't that sweet.
Where are we seeing $25k ? USPS is the only place I've seen any VER talk and its only $15k
USPS is also kinda like their own entity, even though considered a fed agency. It may still be a higher amount for other agencies.
The Vera/vsip offer could be coming in the near future, pay attention to your email
@johnteachout610 they have offered a VER but the incentive is only $15K
$25,000 isn’t worth it. After state and federal income taxes, I’d be looking at around $18,000 to give up my job. Ridiculous!
$40k sounds good 👍
There are talks to increase the limit to $40K, so we'll see what happens.
It hardly seems worth it for $25k 🤷🏻♀️. Then any pension, future SS benefits, etc. are probably reduced over the long run too.
I agree. VERA and VSIP sound great, but a reduced pension, TSP, SS and salary add up to several hundred thousand dollars over a 7+ year period. However, if I had a decent paying job lined up I would probably go for it knowing that the guaranteed health insurance with VERA will hopefully protect me from any large medical bills.
nahhhh....I read it is only $25000
I am leaving anyway. I am glad I reached retirement age just as the clown show came back to town
You prefer the lab coat/ experimental drug enforcement variety?
@@chief5981he’s probably fully vaccinated too
Congrats on your retirement!!!
@@chief5981 My thoughts Exactly. Sounds to me like this is the kind of person that needs to go. The only CLOWN is the one who was voted out.
Versus the Clown Show that just left town….
