    Hmmm, great work. D. O. Fagunwa is guilty of what u r trying to correct here sir. I read almost all his titles in my primary n secondary school days. Fagunwa followed Bishop Ajayi Crowthers parallel in almost all his books. So not until I grew up n got into d university did I begin to shed my ignorance of d positions of these two great Yoruba men. U make me remember Prof Wande Abimbolas voluminous books on Ifa n d Yoruba Pantheon. Great job. 🥂

    Bishop Ajayi Crowther was a man who was very knowledgeable including in Yoruba History and Culture and if you compare the characteristics of both Bishop Ajayi
    Crowtger got it right
    Jesus called the Devil a deceiver and Yorubas call Edu a trickster

    Waa Sere, what is the actual Yoruba word/name for your "world of the unborn"?
    I hate it when it is stated that "we Yoruba believe", when should instead be said 'we Yoruba Know'? lol
    That which is known and proven/provable is Knowledge & Truth: It is not "belief", which may be fake/false/Lie.
    Yoruba is of a Knowledge System, which can be verified by Direct Experience.
    Yoruba Cultural Foundation IS NOT of a 'belief system', like the foreign religious nonsense that are based in nothing proved or provable.

  • @obeyalways5406
    @obeyalways5406 Месяц назад +2

    Sweet explanation. Note that the Esu of the Yorubas is different from the Esu in the Bible as used by the Christians.
    Have you heard of Homonym or Homograph? A word that has two or more different meanings?
    E.g. BAT = flying mammal and BAT = Object used in sport
    Words have history and origin. A word may have the same or different meaning from its origin. This is called Semantic or Etymological Shift.
    So, there is no error. It is simply word evolution.

  • @AkinkunmiSegun-dw3hl
    @AkinkunmiSegun-dw3hl 12 дней назад +1

    Sorry esu doesn't mean engulf or round. Infact the meanings you gave to those words are wrong. Don't think all yorubas has forgotten their ancient history totally. There are some that still know some details. Thanks

    Esu lord of the crossroads seems awfully similar to the entities who contract ppl who are in crossroads in their mind after Satan offers them riches in exchange for something. Even being a witch you have to sacrifice things. To figure out who orishas are connect them with various mythologies from Hindu, Greek, phonecian , Egyptian , etc

    • @ADE-of-LAGOS
      @ADE-of-LAGOS Месяц назад

      Satan is an illusion created by European Christians to scare people. It's Esu that use the decision points (i.e. crossroads) to purnish, elevate or teach.

    Satani is the Yoruba of satan. Esu is not Satan, and this confusion started when Ajayi crowther translated the English Bible to Yoruba
