The 186km (mostly) sealed road from Birdsville to Bedourie is known as THE BILBY WAY, and journeys through some of the most extraordinary landscape - gibber plains, permanent waterholes and wetlands, sand dunes, claypans and Channel Country.
On our trek to BEDOURIE, we stopped at some interesting, marked attractions:
    Waddi Trees
Table & Chairs Rest Stop … so random!
    Cacoory Homestead Ruins
    Cacoory Bore
    Cuttaburra Crossing Wetland
Bedourie is the birthplace of the Bedourie Camp Oven, and the name means ‘dust storm’. It is a small town perched on a sand dune and surrounded by Eyre Creek with a range of facilities and attractions including the heritage-listed Mud Hut, Caravan Parks (x2), Roadhouse, General Store, Outback Visitor Centre and The Bedourie Hotel.
We stayed overnight at the Desert Oasis Caravan Park and stopped in at the pub where we enjoyed a hearty dinner and met some of the friendly locals including Priscilla the Queen of the Desert!
    Time to hit the road!

I would hate to get lost in that vast nothingness! It’s beautiful, yet intimidating!

Good question! Our van is dust proof now. When we first got her we used a few tubes of sikaflex and a can of expanding foam to fill all the small gaps/holes we could find under, in and around the caravan. When we travel on really dusty roads we deploy a few additional measures too...
