    I drove this road today, 10-26-19, and it has deteriorated drastically. This video shows a fairly smooth surface and it is nothing like that now. Be prepared for a really rough ride if you are considering making a run at Schnebly Hill Road.

      I've seen similar reports on social media about it getting rougher lately. I hope to run it sometime in the next year, maybe after this snow season. Thanks for the update.

    I took my 2014 f 150 down and up this road. Had no problems, like they said very rocky. I bought mickey Thomson tires and they were great,it is a good challenge of your driving skills.

    The road coming down heading to route 17 looks much more manageable. Do you think a Ford Econoline Van would hold up going up and back ? I’d stay clear of the rocky part that heads into Sedona

    Anyone been through there with a open diff 2wd preruner on 31 inch all terrains?

    • @azoffroad_net
      @azoffroad_net  3 года назад

      When I ran it, it was with 31 AT's in 4WD part time with open diffs. I know it had changed difficulty since, but I'm sure with decent clearance, you will likely be alright.

    Did you see that Deer run up the hill on the right side just before the second pink jeep tour (about 6:15+-)?

      Poor guy running from one Jeep right into another. There's also a rattlesnake in the middle of the trail 23:59.

    I want to take a stock rental Jeep on this trail and I have little off road experience. Do you have any advice?

  • @paulzisk5174

    It's not the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Its the interchange of two paved roads in Sedona Az. Going up is amazing to US 17 I did it a low rider. Slow and safe

    Supposed to be 4×4 off roading, but you taking the smoothest line. Might as well get back on asphalt.

      +Dave k The view from Schnebly Hill Vista is by far the best part of the trail. Barlow's is great, you should have a fun trip!

    I love that trail and I remember it being manageable with my Toyota 4Runner back in 2002, but in 2013 I went there with a rental Chevy Tahoe and that trail was at least 3-4 times rougher that how it looks in this video. I was afraid I wasn't going to make it out of there or that I might break something under the vehicle. It's a nice trail for sight seeing and very worth it but it seems like sometimes they smooth it out and you can make it with the clearance of any truck, but sometimes it may be a lot rougher.

    What's the metal rattling noise on your Jeep? I hear the GP but sounds like your hood isn't shut.. just curious. Great vid of the Run; spectacular views. thnks

      Mitch Plehn That's the high lift on the roof! By this point in the trip, the foam padding meant to keep it in place had worn out. Ha.

    Great Video!!! Just did Crown King trail last wknd, this definitely looks a lot smoother and calmer. which is what we want! Would you agree? Or is there surprise difficult areas? How long was the trail itself?

    • @azoffroad_net
      @azoffroad_net  8 лет назад +1

      Thank you Laura. If you're talking about this versus the Backway to Crown King, then yes, this one is definitely smoother. If you're talking about the frontway into CK, then I would say this is a little bit rougher. Schnebly Hill itself has a few rocky/washboardy spots but nothing really surprising. The trail is only 11 miles so it goes much quicker!

    how high of a clearance do need for this trail?

    • @azoffroad_net
      @azoffroad_net  8 лет назад

      +Serg tech A stock SUV can do this trail but might have to go slower on some parts. The initial climb from Sedona is the rockiest part.
