I have a question. I love your work and you are very talented, but wouldn't these parts glued one day loose and fall? how can we prevent it from happening? especially in hot places where the changes of temperature tend to affect everything made in wood...
MUY buena calidad, el texto imagenes. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO Un manuel muy completo y trabajado. Resulta muy práctico. Para principiantes y profesionales. Lo recomiendo
I've never looked up making something with inlay but have often wondered. When I saw the block going through the bandsaw, I had a light bulb moment realising how to do this. Very pleased to have seen this! Thanks.
Thank you very much! That is very kind. I hope that one day I will become a master craftman. And be recognised for my work! So I have to work hard ahah! you comment was very kind thanks again
Thank you for your comment David I enjoyed reading it! You are very kind. I want to become a woodworker so it is nice to read comments like yours. Thanks
Incredible craftsmanship. Wood inlay has always fascinated me, you make it look easy, but it's definitely a lot of work to do. It also helps that you have a great shop with all the tools available to you, and you know how to use them.
Amazing work, I'm Impressed. I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I can say this is one of the best woodworking tutorials I've seen in my trade.
Oh man, those corner inlays, you'd have found me hanging from the power cord of my tablesaw about 2 minutes after asking me to do that. Very nice work!
I’ll tell ya what, you young gun, you’re doing some very impressive work, and I’ve been at this probably longer than you’ve been alive. I love seeing the younger generation finding the joy in high end wood working / furniture making that I have loved for my whole life - I’m looking forward to checking out your additional videos - Carry on, young man, Carry On!!
Hey! Thank for watching and your kind comment. I agree. i would love to see more people my age doing woodwork. but more and more stuff are not screens now or being made by machines. But we should bring it back!!! ahha. thanks part 5 coming very soon!
Lovely work I admire it. What you have is a string or band not an edge band they go on sides of board and are usually used these days on man made boards. I’ve not done any inlay work for about 10 years but this has sparked my interest again thankyou.
Hi Bryan! thank for your comment thats means a lot. I have a very good DT teacher at school. who got me inspired to do woodwork. and I could stop practice from there. looking forward to showing you more videos!
You are obviously are an extremely talented young man,(you look barely 20)LOL.After 45 years as a chef,I have semi retired and looking to explore wood crafts again.I stumbled upon this segment,of yours, looking for a how-to on copper inlay .I have done some wood inlay while messing around with little ,and trust me,very rudimentary projects,"back in the day".But this table is off the hook!!May I say your project has sparked a new interest in MY project now and I will add some wood to the copper,as well.I only have basic tools and certainly not a "workshop",but I AM determined!!LOL Who knows, maybe I can master my phone and be able to video my progress,HAHAHAHA!! Thanks for the video, sharing your talents and the inspiration!!!
Hey mate, if you love binge watching DIY videos I just finished filming the making of a classic wooden standup paddleboard, plus I have free plans if you're interested... ruclips.net/video/4PfU_W5Vq74/видео.html
More amazing work! I just can't say enough how in awe of your talent I am. I also took note of how much you've matured, personally, since that first video I saw many months ago. You're becoming a more relaxed and professional presenter, along with getting better and better at your craft. Well done, you!
I was bored because I am way too underskilled to use what your displaying... until I saw your apron. That is a fantastic idea, as I have stained, torn, bled, and destroyed so many shirts and trousers! Thank you!
Well do young man , your next generation,...you can take over from me after 40 yrs as a joiner, knowing the profession will be in safe hands for next 40 yrs Well done.
Awesome to watch. Been doing a little of this myself so it's really great to see the techniques of someone as proficient as yourself. Thanks heaps and keep up the good work.
Beautiful work! I remember when they taught woodworking in high school in USA....then replaced it with How Do I Feel About Myself Today class. Keep workin the wood!
You obviously got a great talent for woodworking . Your table is a piece of art . I don't know how old you are ,but you certainly have more talent then a lot of wood workers I know Including my self . Good to see that this beautiful trade IS NOT finished . Actually I sent your link to all my woodworkers friends . Keep your excellent work and thanks a million for sharing your talent . The last time a saw nice inlay like that is when I was an apprentice French polisher in France about 50 years ago doing antiques furniture . Thanks so much SE . By the way I subscribed ... !
HI John, That is very kind of you! thanks you very much I'm thrilled you like my work, I am 17 years old and I would love to be a woodworker when I'm older! so it means a lot what you said! Thanks for subbing. I'm looking forward to showing you more videos!
You surely are going to make a great woodworker SE , I just wish we had some talented young lads at the wood club I belong too. Only 17 and you doing pro jobs ... Keep going and I wish you the best ...
I do a fair bit of inlay work, mostly with boxwood, bubinga, ebony, and sometimes rippled sycamore.....I found my accuracy improved greatly by using a striking knife to mark the length of my inlay, instead of using a pencil. I use only hand tools for my work......I found if there is a mistake to be made, a hand tool only makes a little mark, while a router tends to ruin things very quickly...... so you feeling nervous with the router is understandable :) Nice work my friend! :)
Great job, glad this came up as a suggested video as I'm looking at this process for a Tea Chest for my wife. Going to be busy checking out your other videos, thanks for sharing.
OMG !!! That's amazing detail and it's a stunning piece whoever owns it should be proud of the workmanship . Fantastic job and very nice video . Who says you have to have a huge shop full of costly tools to do amazing work . You have great skill and an awesome eye for details .
Beautiful table ! I have a Aunt and Uncle that have had a similar style table in their home for many years my Uncle is retired Military and had been a certified Scuba diver since the 1970s In the Display table he has placed many Artifacts And other items he recovered from historical wrecks On top of a very pretty and special White sand he got from a Florida Beach when they were Stationed close to it during his career I was also a Certified Scuba Diver since the 1970s and ive always loved that table as i have collected similar items from the Atlantic Ocean as well
It is most gratifying to see a young entrepreneur like yourself who is dedicated to his craft and motivated to produce quality products that people will gladly pay to have in their homes. You stand in stark contrast to most people your age who would rather choose socialism and getting "free stuff" from the government that they mistakenly think will make their lives better, if not more rewarding and easy. Bravo, my good man, BRAVO!
Thank you @Stukaman for your kind comment. I thrilled you like my work. I'm currently working on my latest table project (which is my last video) if you want to check it out!
What a gifted and artistic young man you are. Your table top looks absolutely, stunning. Very art-deco looking, and that's super, awesome. I bet you'd make a mint if you started selling your furniture. My Best. Out.
Thanks Michael, I really happy you like my work. I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos. I have a good segmented vase coming very soon! thanks for watching!
Impressive work for a young man! My Grandfather taught me (I am almost 71 y/o ) how to do my first inlays and they were all done with chisels - and not very elaborate (whatever design was also hand made by me!). I don't remember if I even knew what a router was - and I'm sure I couldn't afford one. HAHA Maybe it was the way I learned, but I always lay out the pattern to be symmetrical and have identical corners. But I will admit that planning the pattern takes as long or even longer than the work itself, and makes many more cuts necessary. Keep up the great work!
Great job. A master working at his craft. You make it look so easy! This spring I am having a new wide plank wood layer in my living room and dining room. I told the contractor that I want a banding around the edge if the floor done in three woods, which I haven't decided on. I want the wood to weave around each other. Your video gave me some further ideas. Doing the banding will cost a bit, but no other floor around will have it.
Absolutely stunning!!! You are young man that indeed has a GOD given taken!! I wished you had talked and explained, especially through the carving for the inlay. Hopefully, the other video will explain all about how you made the mixed wood's to create this pattern!!! Blessing, Doe Campbell
Hey Doe thanks for your comment. That's very kind of you! My first video on my channel, was me making a pattern like that one. so if you want to see how i did it.... I would recommend watching that one. Also my next video which will be coming out very soon! is one me doing some carvings in detail. so i think you will like that one! thanks for watching!
Wow! You are very interesting to watch, and you are very experienced to be so young. I really love watching people work when they are precise and neat and tidy as they work, it shows how much they care about what they are doing and how much the piece means to them. Great Job Young Man!
I have never before seen anyone cut inlay with a chisel...was very impressed with your accuracy and talent! You actually made me feel that I too could someday create a piece with inlay...time will tell...
Thank you very much +Wayne Thompson thats very kind. I thrilled you are inspired to try inlay out. thanks for watching. I'm looking forward to showing you more video!
Watched this last night and been on my mind all day long..And just watched again.. Within the past few weeks been attempting to make jigs and create my own banding... Amazing work, exciting and educational to watch you work. Maybe one day you could do some tutorials on creating the banding as well.. Searched your channel last night and didn't find although I could have missed.. Love the look.
Hi Greg, Thank you for your email! that's very kind and I'm thrilled you like my videos. Hey +Trav C I was nervous about it aswell. But I was confident it was going to work. And it did. So I'm very happy I did it and it makes the table look so much better. thanks for you comment and thanks for watching!
I absolutely hated the music. But that's because I'm old. Ha. No, I didn't want to mute the video because I wanted to hear him talk about what he's doing. That end result though, made suffering through the music worth it. You did an incredible job and it looks beautiful. Absolutely stunning.
