I love a story with a valuable message. I tell my family and friends regularly, "pay attention to everything AND never underestimate ANYONE. The kid murdered two people because he didn't get a tip, and he chose his victims based on the fact that he saw that they were the "I don't pay attention" type! 😢 I especially love the "what goes around comes around" aspect. People don't think karma is real, but clearly.....😅 I would never wish ill on others, to enrich myself and if you do, you deserve what you ultimately get🤷🏾‍♀️ in return

I haven’t gotten close to through all of your stories, but this was by far my favorite I’ve seen and it came up as the first hit when I searched on your RUclips (discovered you through Podcast app). I love this story.

I love hearing you read stories for us, Otis. Come to think of it, your voice resembles that of my now-deceased grandfather. He was a kind man, and I can hear that kindness in your voice as well. It's nice to know that there are still people like you around when so many people in the U.S. these days seem only seem to be hellbent on who can be the biggest and nastiest badass. Mostly us millennials. I personally find myself wanting to live for God, and unlike everything else, it hasn't let me down yet for the last thirteen years. Then again, I'm far from perfect myself. Pride at my strength I have and I consider myself too good to get hurt, so whenever someone or something causes me physical pain, I lose it. The more injuries I take on, instead of slowing down like a normal person would, the mere thought of someone injuring me more just serves to drive me into an even deeper frenzy and only seems to make my attacks even more vicious, which before would have seemed impossible. Get an arm blown off by an assault rifle? The feeling of pain immediately gets drowned out by fury and I use the part of the jagged part of the bone jutting out from the stump where my arm once used to be to gore the dude who shot it off repeatedly until he looks like swiss cheese. So I've got my own issues. Far too much pride is an unimaginably powerful weapon, but it's uncontrollable and dangerous enough to drive a person to madness in an instant. The worst part is finally coming to your senses, as upon doing so, every injury you've sustained during your frenzy suddenly slams into you all at once like a freight train. Anyway, it's nice to have people like you who still show us that the country hasn't completely gone down the proverbial toilet.

I mean, I haven't lost myself to my pride in almost two decades, so I've obviously come a long way. Once I came to after that last time I did, I realized that while it did make me mighty and nearly unstoppable, it came at the cost of the safety of those who had wronged me in the moment, as well as anyone who might have tried to step in. I decided on that day that I'd rather be weak and good than mighty yet a monster. Now I still verbally fight back against someone who has wronged me because my pride refuses to let me back down, but I am a far more happy and carefree guy.

    Did anyone else think that?

I did not expect that ending!😳 This was very well narrated. Though I half expected Jack to live and just his wife die, or him to have some children and have just been robbed.
