Raj Kapoor was just 26 years old when he produced film Awara (1951).He had presented a set of twin memorable dream songs for the first time on an unprecedented scale in film Awara.
His R.K.Studio was incomplete till then. The roof had still to be laid.Raj Kapoor decided to hold shooting of these dream songs in the incomplete studio (without roof).
The concept of using a mixture of water & propane gas during a dream sequence was quite new to India. Some cinematographers & technicians from
Hollywood were also involved for shooting of these dream songs.
It is said that Raj Kapoor had spent nearly 40% of the total budget of film Awara on these twin dream songs !
The huge response of viewers to the b&w video of these songs on the portal of RUclips was so huge that the legal heirs of R.K.Films decided to launch their digitally colored version.
Music director Jaikishan had himself played the tabla during recording of this song.He had tied straps of tiny 'ghungroos' to both of his wrists while playing tablas.
Lata Mangeshkar recorded this song in her mellifluous voice !Shailender's superb lyric and wonderful soundtrack composed by Shankar-Jaikishan were the other highlights of this video.
Top grade acting of Nargis & Raj Kapoor was the other prominent highlight of this video.
Please enjoy this video the best way by watching it on enlarged screen using headphone for its the best audio-visual impact.
