Now I'm a GOAT . Got old and tired . I don't think Kelly will ever get old and tired . FN freak of nature. Great footage fella , and great to see those awesome lines at Coolangatta again. 2011 Quicksilver Pro Long Beach, NY - I missed my opportunity to meet Kelly Slater. It was the day before the contest and it was just the two of us in the water. I was further out on my longboard but my struggles from both (93’,01’) World Trade Center attacks kept me from paddling over to say hey bro, you’re a legend and I have the deepest respect for you as a surfer and human being. And I would have said dude, I think you’re the best of the best in our lifetime. But, I lost that opportunity. I lost it. Life lesson learned: When opportunity knocks, answer. Your troubles will come and go. Experience knowledge, wisdom. I do have “To meet Kelly Slater” up on our vision board. Close out a karma contract in some way. It’s up to the universe. Peace on earth ❤️

Serious question about kirra, when I moved to oz all I heard was that Kirra was recked, the dredging had ruined the wave etc etc. now it seems to be back?? Is it what it was? If so, Was this an ecological cycle or did they change the sand moving policy to help? Love to know. Stunning wave
Yes, Slater may seem to be the G.O.A.T. of all time in the category of all around players. Surfers of recent years don’t know about other G.O.A.T.s. If Robert Nat Young or Tom Curren had been in their prime during the Slater years, the story would be very different.
Why are there so few surfers out? All other videos I’ve seen of that place shows hundreds of guys on top of each other dropping in on each other. Complete Mayhem!
It was high tide , most of the crew were waiting for the tide to drop a bit after already surfing an early half tide session . The average joes were more cautious because of bigger sets rolling through . And no one knew slater was going to be there .
I hope you Locals rolled out the Red Carpet for the King...! He probably would have dismissed your efforts to do so.... But super happy he got to ride our Water... Hail to the King...! Cheers .., Love this...!
I remember going in to a surf movie in 1978 at the Balboa Theatre in NB, the opening scene shows perfect Kirra Point, the crowd erupted, I was in awe because I had never seen a wave like that.
He was only on the tour last year to try and snag a spot in the Olympics to go out in style at Teahupo’o. Now that dream is gone he’ll only surf the good breaks this season.

Just blessed to be living close to this place. I was in Tahiti and captured him in my video, but I hope to one day visit Kirra point and Snapper.
