That reminds me of when I went through Waldorf Maryland. My favorite band in the entire world when I was a kid was from Waldorf. About 2.5h away from where I grew up. I was just PRAYING they were in Waldorf visiting family from California and I’d somehow meet them lol. I even saved a Doritos bag I bought from the gas station lol. And took a picture of the Waldorf sign. I also remember my mom standing outside concert venues with me all my child and teen years trying to meet bands and artists lol. @Dem Ones there no time for racism bro, no matter who you are or your color. The right thing is: Persons x Racists... but they think the right is Black x White.
I don't think the people who live here are crazy. People come from all walks of life. Eminem was able to leave because of his talent, but there are others who are not. Never look down on those who live here.
Because they made millions of Tauruses on three platforms for nearly three decades, and replacement parts are ubiquitous. They're also seen in apartment complexes, shopping malls, and on the roads, all these decades later. BTW: Mr. Mathers NEVER lived in an MHP. He lived in a wooden bungalow (one square floor with a smaller second floor - limited by the narrowing roof) on Dresden Street in Detroit Proper, at the time when the neighborhood was transitioning from white to black. The movie people decided an MHP represented white poverty more effectively than a small foundation house.
@@samie5856 In my life I've never seen a baby blue Taurus. Corporate gray dominated the day. A few Escort models were sky blue, but only early ones (From a North American perspective - perhaps some other countries offered a light non-metallic blue in other eras and places).
I drive by this all the time on the way to the dispensary and I had a dream two nights ago where I drove into the park but was really scared to find Eminem's place for some reason. Lol This is legit not bad at all like I expected.
I was there in 2015 but took a quick look because there was a "no trespassing" sign right where you exited the trailer park...is it still there? are there any issues maybe with residents not wanting unknown people around or I was just too paranoid?
At the 6:00 mark the mobile home on the left in white has a big bay window on this side facing us as we drive past. I've never seen a bay window on that side before of the mobile home. Usually they're on the butt end the toe tongue end. Pretty neat.
Mike Maloney The hoods have houses, these are trailers that are way way smaller then the hood houses. Also, em did live in the hood also as he moved around alot
I hear they are closing this trailer park and building Apartments. my backyard was separated by a chain link fence from the back of the trailer park. It's been being emptied out for about 2 years or so now. I just moved in February and it was already pretty much emptied of occupants then.
Looked mostly abandoned. Started seeing some vehicles and people the last part of the video. I am surprised the abandoned trailers haven't been stripped out and gutted by the scrappers.
Not much abandonment. When a lucky couple saves up enough money to rent a house, there's always a 22-year-old guy with a pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend to replace the couple that left.
I grew up on the Detroit side on Gallagher in the 80s and we used to laugh at this place because you could smell it when you walked down 8 mile, it was so nasty and still is. One of the few parts where the Detroit side looks better than the suburb side, our houses were all brick and it was very stable with all home owners before the mid-late 90s when people (my generation) started moving out for suburban living when it became available to black people whereas our parents who actually were better off financially due to great factory and city jobs weren't allowed. Those dynamics kept many Detroit neighborhoods viable, allowance to the suburbs in the late 90s made a black flight happen and left all the poorest in the hood and things went down.
I'm going to set up a road repair business in the US, looks like there are plenty of potential workers around who need a job so perform a social service and make lots of yankee dolla too.
Funny thing about trailer parks is how much of kryptonite they are to black hood residents. I went to a high school dead center in the middle of the black urban city of Flint. The school was large with around 3000 students and literally I was 1 of around 10 non-white students. This school happened to have a small rundown trailer park bordering the property and all these seemingly hardcore streetwise high schoolers were looking out the window and reminiscing old stories of how one time they heard of someone they knew rode their bike through and lived. The crowd of people turned to me sitting down and asked if I knew anybody in that park(cuz I was white).
Mystic Jesse my wife and I lived there in 83. Paid 360 a month for a 50 ft trailer behind the party store. When we moved out, they sold the trailer for 250 lol
Notorious 859 let's not put it out of its misery yet , Detroit doesn't deserve a quick death give it a couple years and if it's still like this then evacuate everyone there and find them shelter
the trailer park was where em stayed with his grandma, which is called warren i believe. em lived on the other side of 8 mile in a small house on dresden street.
Eminem never lived here but I did between 2006-15, my trailer is across the street off camera from the trailer at 1:40, which used to be occupied by a lady who gave us some cats(there's a lot of cats in that park)
Prodigal Son it's always looked bad. Yes. It's just fkd up how in just the past 10 years it has gotten even worse.... But yes it's been bad 4 many many years

Obviously from the movie 8 Mile. But near Detroit? Now I understand why a rapper said Rabbit wasn't from Detroit in a rap battle. It was "Lickety Split". He wasn't from Detroit really, this is out of the city.
Em' took himself out of this neighborhood and now he's sleeping in a mansion.

That one mission where you have to go and blow up that trailer park as Trevor😂

It's called news/weather/traffic & sports on the radio. For historical purposes, it makes these clips all the more interesting.
The juxtaposition of the radio and where you were driving was striking.

There are different types of trailer parks like low end middle end and high end trailer parks
