I feel like the best deck right now is Green Gohan followed by Broly. Broly's leader has 2500 attack when transformed which trades badly with Frieza unless you already have full board control. Gohan can have 9 energy and 14 cards in hand on turn 6
Geez, sounds like a menace. I've only faced two Broly decks so far and got lucky with the first win because I managed to draw a second Golden Frieza card while the first one still survived. What exactly is Gohan's ability that makes him so much worse?
@@cicada8981 Gohan when awakened has the ability, on both players turns, to place 1 energy into the drop for +15000 power. There is also a 5 drop Goku where when he is played and every time a card goes from Energy the top card of your deck goes to your energy. Which isn't once per turn! Also unlike Broly, he keeps the +1 draw after he transforms.
@@PurpleWokey Gohan is nutty but I wouldent say that for broly at all. Hes way too slow, and him criting a life is awful. I would say the best leaders are green gohan, and green android 17. Its just that the green card pool is so good that putting it on broly elevates him, but hes like a B tier at best.
So dope to see you playing this game! Pro tip: you don’t always wanna attack with your cards the turn you play them. Also you don’t want to combo unless you absolutely have to. Cards in hand are very important in this game! Also taking life in the beginning is fine because you want to awaken. Hope these helped and excited to see more content!
Quick tip for the future Rhyme, your opponent can't atk your units that are NOT in rest mode. So when you had Roshi and Whis on the field, the move was to atk with Roshi and leave Whis active. that way u can keep using his attack reduction.
Yeah you for sure want to stop spending all your combos early on in the game. And also attacking with frost was the wrong move as resting cards can be attacked, so you left yourself open. You want to be taking damage early on in the fight to get cards from your life into your hand for more card advantage. But you can try and protect from things like critical which drops the life into the drop.
OHHHHH. So if I dont attack with Frost, he cant get attacked? THAT MAKES SENSE. There were times where I was like WHY CANT I ATTACK THIS CARD. That makes soo much sense. THANK YOU
@@rhymestyle I'm a cooler main and man, Frost is by far the biggest nuisance that I've come across. Have to jump through hoops to get him into rest mode with my own things just so I can get rid of him and play the game.
I actually played the beta it's pretty good I remember having a teen Gohan as my Main guy since it fitted with the broly deck couldn't win a single battle tho 😢
The physical tcg version of this game is big alongisde One Piece tcg around here in SEA lately, everyone at my card game locals are playing this on the side.
Never combo a card that lets u draw. Sometimes it can be better to take dmg just to draw more cards for a potential comeback. Also you can combo active cards on your field. It dosent have to be from your hand. Also another note is that beerus is a crit char so he dosent draw cards when attacking.
Quick thing, so ya know how when you're the player who goes second the game gives you an energy for free. If you can get by without using it, it won't go away. So if you plan for it, you can be 1 energy ahead of your opponent for a bit, which is especially useful for like the broly deck which is made for gaining energy.
Your best bet when playing in the early game is to never give your opponent anything to swing at besides your leader, so don't attack with battle cards. That being said, if your opponent starts giving you targets to attack, hard focus them, so your opponent doesn't get a chance to awaken before you set yourself up. Everything in this game revolves around your awakened side, so even though Critical is by far the best keyword in the game, the lack of draw Beerus has forces you to awaken as quickly as possible. Any cards that say "You may add up to 1 card from your life to your hand" are gonna be super important early game.
Cant wait to see the videos yall 3 make together this game is amazing. Also small tip but combo power and hand advantage is everything in this game, its the core value of the game. So you want to take hits early on from life so you can get that extra hand advantage. You also dont want to attack too much early on unless it allows you to draw something. You dont really start defending your life until 4 or 5 life is left, unless its like a crit or double strike
i used to play the DBSTCG prior to this one, even topped a few regionals in Florida and Alabama. id be happy to show you a few things if interested. this is much more relaxed than the DBS masters TCG.
As a fusion player myself, i can tell you confidently. That this game is anything except free, imagine hearthstone with an even shadier monetisation scheme

Mark my words the starter set is a little bit vanilla nothing to crazy effect wise but this game will probably become super fun once more cards start getting added
Hey Rhyme! I downloaded this after I watched your video and have been going HAM with Androids. Don't know if this hold true for other colors, but as Green I like to try and get board/hand/energy advantage first before I focus their health. Keeps them from activating their awakening, and ensures that once they do they can't really take advantage of it. I try not to combo unless it's absolutely critical, better so save combos for when you're low health or you NEED a card to live. Once you get hand advantage you're able to combo more. (So remember to attack with your leader every turn if their base form has a draw mechanic!) Generally, if I see a card in rest mode early I try to kill it to keep their field low. Don't be afraid to use your 1 cost 5000 combo power to defend early attacks! Would love to play some rounds sometime!
I was nervous I wasn't gonna get wtf was going on but you're right it is surprisingly easy to learn everything. Running the Frieza starter deck for now until I get paid HOORAHHH. LOVVE THE VIDSS
Pro tip for new players. You shouldn't be blocking attacks to your leader until you are at 4 life with the exception of cards with critical or double strike
I’m late to the vid so I dunno if you will see this. You want to take hits early cause late game you can get smelted. Taking hits is drawing as well. Playing beerus means you lose the draw 1 unlike other leaders who mostly all have draw one. So you have to spare your resources since you’ll have less just by default. Hoped this helped a bit.
I was about to get into the physical card game since everyone at my locals are getting into both this and one piece tcg, so seeing that they have a digital version kinda helped me out trying to learn the game.
Oof, that hurt. I wanna impart some wisdom as someone who has been playing the original version of the card game for like 4-5 years now. Hand advantage is EVERYTHING in this game, ESPECIALLY in this much slower version. Unless you're Broly or Gohan, your endgame is maximizing your hand size while minimizing theirs (and even for those two it's still important, they just have energy ramp so their endgame is to hit 7 or 8 energy as soon as possible and then dump absolutely everything on the field). This is accomplished through draw cards (like Roshi), leader effects, and taking damage. So far, almost all have an effect that lets them draw a card on both sides of their card. Beerus is not one of these (he only draws you cards when he flips or on his backside) which puts him in a weird position with card advantage. However, he still has a way of maintaining hand advantage - the Critical skill. Normally whenever you take damage from a card, you draw a card from your lifecount. If that card has Critical, however, it send the card they would have drawn straight to their graveyard. Given that drawing when you take damage is the main comeback mechanic this game has, this is huge. From what I've seen red has more critical cards than any other color in the game, and assuming you're able to make sure their life never hits their hands until it's too late, your opponent is usually going to only be able to draw two cards without spending cards in hand - if they want to actually put cards on the field and charge energy, they will at BEST go hand-neutral, and anything more than a single card on the field per turn is hand-negative. However, not being able to draw cards when attacking is also a not-insignificant detriment to Beerus as well, since that means until you're ready to awaken he's only getting one card a turn without taking damage, and once he's awakened he loses the ability meaning your opponent actually gets their cards when they take damage again. Beerus has to be mindful of his hand size at all times and very careful about when he awakens, and he ALWAYS wants to take damage unless it puts him in lethal range or would be a critical hit, even more so than the other leaders. Oh also, dont spend the energy marker turn 1. Save it; it lets you put out a big beatstick a turn earlier. TL;DR: dumping every card in your hand to protect a card on the first turn is a VERY bad idea, and leaders only appreciate eating hits when it gives them a fat hand and wont kill them.
Yeah this just of dropped out of nowhere. New packs coming out are gonna have codes for it, too. Although it doesn't have any sets prior to this specific one.
I remember the DBZ Kakarot Card game being pretty good, still don't know why they attached it too a frigging single player game but hope this'll fill that void.
Love to see you covering this game. I've noticed a lot of people throwing tips but one that I wanted to tell ya is that your deck build is slightly lacking, maybe you we're drawing ass that game but 2 mains things I noticed. Reduce the amount of extras you're running, since extra are uncomboable they can really mess up your hand, secondly, always always always run 4 super combos, the amount of combo power a single super combo gives is ridiculous.
I feel like anyone who told you Yellow is the strongest straight capped to you because 90% of decks being run in tourney are green. On top of me just only hearing how Green is currently the best in the meta from knowledgeable players, but maybe someone figured something out idk
As a guy that plays tons of this game I would I should tell you that you can combo the cards you have on the field instead of using cards in your hand as for the deck I am currently playing I am loving broly as it ramps your energy
It kind of reminds me of Magic with the mulligans and the fact they can do something when you 'declare' an attack. Animations looks clean. Bandai out here with the sauce!
One of the reasons why I always like Magic the best of all the card games is that both players are always engaged when it comes to decisions. Things like declaring blockers, instants, activated abilities, all that, means you're never just waiting for your opponent to finish their turn. Your reaction to what they do on their turn matters just as much as the thing they're actually doing.
Thanks rhyme for showing this game, I didnt even know it existed, I just started playing it and it so much fun cant wait for some seereax collab soon 🤤🤤🤤
i hate the little bonfires to indicate who's turn it is to act, it should have been an aura effect in the player's character, way more in theme with dragonball than bonfires.
This game is so fun but I am just not able to get the deck building down. I get I might just be bad at the game, but like I've lost every single match I played cause opponent's decks just have crazy better card advantage. I notice I constantly am behind on energy and am just not able to do stuff past my initial 4 energy summons. Not sure what better moves I should be making or how to optimize my deck but I'm excited to see more content on this game in general now that its out
I played the older more complicated game competitively so I’m very glad this game will get more people into both Dragon ball card games! I’ll make my own videos on the game soon hopefully they’ll be helpful for newer players. 👍
Big fan of the Green deck with 17 as a leader, Androids are super cracked at getting a lot of energy to play some of the big boss cards such as DBS Broly and 17/18, who pretty much wreck an entire field, as well as Father-Son Kame Gohan who clears a field (as long as the opponent cards don’t cost over 5 energy) Fun deck, but the starter is kind of mid
Hope you do more content for that game. Seereax did the same misplays on the beta. This game you wanna be the first one to awaken your leader and keep card advantage. Hope Dino understand the game a bit more and that will make for great videos with the three idiots
Bro I love this game, you asked awhile ago what kind of DB game would you like to see and then they went and dropped fusion world. Went with the gaku deck but brooooo I shoulda went with the freezer deck!
Semi-pro tip for red: shin and cabba are god tier effects. Basically its kinda like an honest, u activate it when u get attacked and u get +20k, if u activate it otherwise its only 10k
@@rhymestyle yeah u can have up to 4 of most cards in i believe, cabba and shin do the same thing but have different tags, like shin works better in a u7 deck, and cabba for u6, the ssjb goku leader buffs u7 cards when awakened too
What I noticed is that you should mostly just adjust your playstyle as Beerus is far more suited for a slower grind game. Aggressively pushing damage isn't an effective use for his strategy.
This was not on my radar until Deion streamed it during the beta. I am big fan of deck bosses and DragonBall so my interest was immaculate. I went Frieza deck with 20 packs of the booster to pad out the strategy. That being said, I'm still getting my ass whooped 😂 I think my win rate is 50% with 20~ matches. I don't really know a Leader's strat until after I'm in the chokehold.
About to watch the vid but I am very excited to try this out. I collected the cards when they first came out but not anymore and I never got to play the game itself so this will be awesome!!!
Feels like it's impossible to win a game, I'm level 4 and won 0 game, and I don't think I've made every worst choices everytime, the starter decks are just really bad...
Freeza is alright, and Ginyu is very strong, but by far Green Broly is the strongest deck out rn. That being said, I think I've had the most fun with the red non-starter deck Goku.
Actually this is a little less complex version of the another tcg (now its called masters). Its almost the same as that one but here you hard cast everything and dont have any counter in the game so its easier to learn and play. Anyway i also have beerus but my main is green gohan.
ive been waiting since the beta and i have been enjoying it a lot for those who are new to the scene and want to play but scared cuz the game looks complex, dont worry because it is really simple despite how it looks
Been wanting to try the card game for a while...glad they seem to have given it the Master Duel treatment...wonder if it's similarly as ftp...even if not I'll probably still try it
Played Fusion World and think its a very entertaining card game, however I wouldn't really recommend it if you like card games that are a bit more f2p friendly, all mission rewards are minimal, and getting ahold of cards after your first starter deck essentially depends on if your willing to crack open the wallet, now I'm not saying to go the master duel route and give the player 15k+ gems to start with(Not including the gems from every solo gate), but at least give enough for a single 10 pull or something. Cant get hooked on that card pulling dopamine unless you give them a proper dose to get them addicted in the first place.
I'm playing Red with SsBlue Goku. Also enjoy regular Ssj Goku for red But I cant deny my second favorite color is Green. Always loved mana(Energy) ramp tactics so im slowly building Youth Gohan on the side
I want to try and run a green Android deck, but i gotta get cards to do it plus i gotta learn better deck structuring. I think if i get that down, i should be aight in real rank matches
@@rhymestyle i’ll also say that some of the decks are massively under balanced, like if you take the Frieza starter deck and go into pvp and end up facing a Goku blue deck it’s not gonna be a fun time And the worst part is, there’s no other way to obtain the pull currency than finishing tutorial stuff and doing good in pvp, so it’ll likely take a f2p quite a while to build an even slightly competitive deck whereas you have a huge advantage if you even paid $20
To keep decent resources, you just gotta let yourself get hit until 4 life, and don't protect any of your weenie hut jr monsters. It also doesn't help that Beerus himself doesn't draw but instead has crit. So opponent loses 1 card instead of you gaining 1 card.

Don't attack with frost. Don't combo until after awakening.
I played the older more complicated game competitively so I’m very glad this game will get more people into both Dragon ball card games!
I’ll make my own videos on the game soon hopefully they’ll be helpful for newer players. 👍
Honestly having a lot of fun with this game. I’ve only been able to do one 10 pack open but still like the strategy making needed to win
Bandai getting so much mileage out of these xenoverse models lol
Big fan of the Green deck with 17 as a leader, Androids are super cracked at getting a lot of energy to play some of the big boss cards such as DBS Broly and 17/18, who pretty much wreck an entire field, as well as Father-Son Kame Gohan who clears a field (as long as the opponent cards don’t cost over 5 energy)
Fun deck, but the starter is kind of mid
just listening to him talk, i got a feeling bro plays magic.'
Rhyme always finding the latest Dragon Ball games to lose in before anyone else.
Basically its kinda like an honest, u activate it when u get attacked and u get +20k, if u activate it otherwise its only 10k
i took shin out LMAO. Ill re-add him in. THANK YOU
@@rhymestyle yeah u can have up to 4 of most cards in i believe, cabba and shin do the same thing but have different tags, like shin works better in a u7 deck, and cabba for u6, the ssjb goku leader buffs u7 cards when awakened too
Each deck color has cards that share effects generally, like there's a shin for every color so to speak
Yesssss I've been waiting for these vids
I would love to be playing this if I wasn't stuck on the download screen with zero progress
Oh wow a dbz card game. Just what the franchise needed
It's very interesting, a shame not many people are making videos on it.
Yellow frieza is the best starter deck hes busted
I'd love to see you absolutely master this game Rhyme! Dragonball and Card Games? It's like it was made for you
it's time to duel...
About to watch the vid but I am very excited to try this out. I collected the cards when they first came out but not anymore and I never got to play the game itself so this will be awesome!!!
Can’t wait for it to come to consoles, looks really fun!
This game really is fun even when frieza beating my ass every match
Finally I got addicted to this game during the beta it hurt me when it left
Feels like it's impossible to win a game, I'm level 4 and won 0 game, and I don't think I've made every worst choices everytime, the starter decks are just really bad...
Freeza is alright, and Ginyu is very strong, but by far Green Broly is the strongest deck out rn. That being said, I think I've had the most fun with the red non-starter deck Goku.
I have no idea how this game works yet im still excited to give it a go
Actually this is a little less complex version of the another tcg (now its called masters). Its almost the same as that one but here you hard cast everything and dont have any counter in the game so its easier to learn and play. Anyway i also have beerus but my main is green gohan.
ive been waiting since the beta and i have been enjoying it a lot
for those who are new to the scene and want to play but scared cuz the game looks complex, dont worry because it is really simple despite how it looks
For the people that play One piece TCG, it plays pretty much the same besides the combo system
I had to keep pulling till I got my boy Goku Black 😌 blue gang boutta go ham
Yeah that game looks fun! Keep the videos coming on this game
Honestly, we need to see Deion beat your ass in this game
This looks like if the normal card game had a child with the one in kakarot. Down to Frieza being good late game.
It's a soft reboot of the normal card game as far as I know
I'm playing Red with SsBlue Goku. Also enjoy regular Ssj Goku for red
But I cant deny my second favorite color is Green. Always loved mana(Energy) ramp tactics so im slowly building Youth Gohan on the side
I played it but theres a HUGE issue.. unlike master duel they dont give NEARLY enough gems at the start making it unplayable for me
5:54 that goku is the red deck's default boss card, unless u pulled something better like ui sign goku or something lol
Oh Im glad to see this game came out…Too bad Helldivers is taking my time away however lol
So is this basically a different version of the pre-existing DBS card game?
I dont know whats in there but id play buu, blue goku kaioken, if ever released ego vegeta and black frieza
I want to try and run a green Android deck, but i gotta get cards to do it plus i gotta learn better deck structuring.
I think if i get that down, i should be aight in real rank matches
I loved the OG version of this card game i played blue Android 16 til my dying breath ToT
You have my interest. Hope you keep playing.
Bro this looks like the biggest sponsored video of all time. Right down to the description
Free is debatable
Highly agree actually
@@rhymestyle
i’ll also say that some of the decks are massively under balanced, like if you take the Frieza starter deck and go into pvp and end up facing a Goku blue deck it’s not gonna be a fun time
And the worst part is, there’s no other way to obtain the pull currency than finishing tutorial stuff and doing good in pvp, so it’ll likely take a f2p quite a while to build an even slightly competitive deck whereas you have a huge advantage if you even paid $20
To keep decent resources, you just gotta let yourself get hit until 4 life, and don't protect any of your weenie hut jr monsters. It also doesn't help that Beerus himself doesn't draw but instead has crit. So opponent loses 1 card instead of you gaining 1 card.
You probably have mentioned earlier but what made you give up your daily upload streak? Just to burnt out?
irl pack opening when😂
Xenoverse should update their models to look like this...
Just started with my goku deck. Might make a broly next
Makes me miss the card game dbz kakorot had. That was fun
glad ur playing, but man i can tell u havent played dbs before, if you want any tips hit me up, been playing the old dbs since 2019
appppreeeeciate it
