The important thing with any fire alarm system in a building is to test it so often that if there ever is a REAL fire, everyone will be conditioned to ignore it and slowly burn to death.

The Aparment complex I live in uses vintage Edward Fire Alarm and on continuous which can be heard allover the place even if you're not very close to the building and can be heard in the basement. On night my Brother thought the Fire Alarm sound was my old Clock Radio which constantly made staticy sound all day.

Here where I live in Rochester, New York when an alarm is activated via a pull station, the dispatcher will indicate that the alarm is originating from a pull station when they put the call out on the radio. At one of the local children’s homes about a mile or so from me nine times out of ten it’s a false alarm.

My fire alarm went off at midnight tonight. Nobody was awake now cooking. The fire alarm was like one of the ones in your house but old. Our fore alarm sounded like a car accident, a bunch of silence. The fire alarms have been going off at 12pm-3pm. It was going off for 20 minutes until we called a number. It wasn’t connected to a fire system so the fire department didn’t come. I don’t understand the point of a fire alarm if fire trucks dont come. We have around 300 apartments and they all are lined up. Were not in the upstairs but you get it. We’re moving soon

+KyoRedBladeZR1 Under the 1994 or 1996 act apartments, more than 4 connected have to have a full alarm system unless they have a 15 ft separation " everyone of the 400 apartments" so they could of had 100 different buildings with 4 apartments but that is uneconomical .
