New 2025 BYD Seal 06 GT - Electric Hatchback From Chinese EV Giant
At the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show, BYD unveiled its newest electric vehicle, the Seal 06 GT. Pre-sales for this all-electric hatchback are set to start in China this September, with a global launch planned for early 2025.
The Seal 06 GT is designed to be a global vehicle, with a focus on European markets. While it will be known as the Seal 06 GT in some regions, it's expected to be called the Seal Mini in Europe. This compact EV is built on BYD's advanced 3.0 platform, which offers a variety of powertrain options, including both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The Seal 06 GT is crafted on BYD’s latest e-Platform 3.0 Evo. It measures 4,630 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
The EV boasts a sleek and sporty design with a sculpted hood and a dynamic lower grille that integrates a radar system for advanced driver assistance. The side profile emphasises the vehicle’s sporty character while the rear offers it a distinctive appearance with a striking full-width taillight design and a prominent diffuser.
Inside, the Seal 06 GT borrows elements from the Seal saloon, offering two interior color options-shell white and twilight blue. The cabin includes a 15.6-inch adaptive floating screen, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 12-inch head-up display. Additional features like wireless charging and the DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit system enhance the driving experience.
The Seal 06 GT comes with a choice of single and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor variant is available in two versions, producing either 215 hp and 310 Nm of torque or 221 hp and 330 Nm of torque. The dual-motor option delivers a combined 416 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
Battery options include a 59.52 kWh pack and a 72.96 kWh pack, offering ranges between 505 km and 605 km, depending on the model. The 800 V silicon carbide high-voltage platform can charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, while a clever optimization further speeds up charging when the battery is nearing full capacity, allowing a charge from 80% to 100% in 18 minutes.
The BYD Seal 06 GT price in China ranges between 150,000 Chinese Yuan to 200,000 Chinese Yuan . The deliveries are expected to begin later this month.
