I was wearing high-quality flip-flop type leather sandals that I'm sure have APMA seal of approval. However, because I was rushing up some metal stairs at an outdoor concert last summer, I tripped, caught front of sandal under step, and broke my large toe & foot in two places :( I suggest you note that no matter what kind of sandals you wear, we must move with care if they have open toe area! So even if u have APMA Seal, it still doesn't mean magic protection for your toes... Watch out!
It probably would determine on the city/county you live in (or wherever you take your recycling to) whether or not the flip flops are able to be recycled, but if they allow it, we see no problems in it!

What about the people in the poor -- flip flops all they have.. Not easy too toss a old shoe darling if thats your only shoe... Plus they work in it - walk miles too get water".--- Just saying

What about recycling your Flip Flops? t is much better than throwing them away? Okabashi shoes are 100% recyclable, and made in the USA

Orthitics flip flops are not as bad.
