We have a 16lb Maine Coon male and you have not lived until you see a big cat like that with the zoomies. That said, catnip is something he will nibble at and maybe roll in it a bit but mostly he does not change from his sweet demeaner.
I once bought a lovely, well-established catmint plant for my garden. It was rolled on and chewed and vandalised to death by my cat and neighbouring cats till there was no sign it had ever existed. 😄

Autumn now, but they growing bigger nad I might consider to make another cage especially for them.As my cat hangs around the strawberry cage very often. I give him some fresh oer dried leaf time to time.

I sprinkle a bit on new things like scratching posts to get him interested in the item, but the catnip mice, balls, and fish just clutter the rooms of my house. If he ever acted like the cats in the video, I might think he's close to normal.

I had a cat back in highschool and he was a weird tasmanian devil (LooneyTunes not the Aussie marsupial) normally. Get him nipped up and he became shall we say functionally stupid?? Cat was as dumb as a post normally but he was more so when high on catnip.... Cat literally tried to pick a fight with the ceiling fan 3 times in a row, after being bitch slapped across the room he gave up. But when he had an entire package of catnip to himself...... He then went from the feline energizer bunny from hell to a catatonic, typical vegged out stoner. Like he literally raided a gallon ziplock full of catnip in under an hour and if not for him breathing and his heart beats i thought he was dead and staring blankly at a wall
So a quick fact for you. since there was a false fact in the video.... catnip can indeed become addictive for some animals. And not just cats. No I don't mean go smoke your cats stash lol. Horses and other quadrupeds have been known to return to patches of catmint... cat nip to consume it repeatedly. Every animal is different. As not all cats are even interested in it. But hay some humans have no interest in grass lol. Cat nip, like anything that can create a pleasant sensation, can become habit forming. Wich leads to addiction. If behaviors become unpleasant before giving item or when not given item it is time to remove item from regular use as it is becoming an addictive substance for the individual. Addiction is a behavioral pattern that becomes a sensation of need where it is unnecessary. This is why some people are addicted to soda while others are not.

Well, 30% it has no effect on.... I literally just poured some in the backyard and had two strays show up in under 5 minutes

About 1/3 of cats have developed a genetic block to the active chemical in catnip and have no reaction to it
