Welcome to a fascinating adventure in the Khao Shiva Water Cave! This cave, which is filled with water year-round, stretches for 500 meters and reaches an impressive depth of 10 to 220 meters. Inside the cave, you’ll encounter breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites that resemble curtains. And as a special highlight, there’s even a small waterfall within the cave.
The Tham Nam Khao Siva is a paradise for adventure enthusiasts who enjoy swimming. You’ll wade through clear water and sometimes even need to swim. Don’t worry-the water temperature remains a pleasant 20°C or higher, so you won’t get too chilly. However, wearing a thin wetsuit is a good idea to protect yourself from the cold.
The history of this cave is equally fascinating. Discovered in 1976, it was further explored by villagers eight years later. They observed a strange phenomenon: a long, red creature swimming clockwise around the sacred water. Legend has it that this cave is a habitat for the holy Naga, and the water dripping from the ceiling is considered blessed water from the great mountain.
At the cave entrance, villagers have erected a shrine called “Pu Naga Shrine,” where visitors can pray and pay homage. This place exudes spirituality and mystique, leaving a deep impression on all who visit.
The entrance fee is *3.30 USD* for foreigners and *1.32 USD* for locals.
Getting There:
By Car: From Sa Kaeo Province, take Highway No. 317 and turn onto Highway No. 3067 at the intersection. Continue on Highway No. 3395. After about 15 kilometers, you’ll reach another intersection. Turn left and drive another 3 kilometers to the cave entrance.
