Monica, I was asked to move to another congregation to assist as an elder. They fast tracked my appointment. So when I moved into the congregation I was already an appointed elder. The elders asked me to have a brief meeting with them. The told me that I had to keep an eye on a Ministerial servant. I asked why. They said that he allegedly talked a 16 year old who was babysitting his kids into getting into the shower with him. I told them we needed to report it. They said it was her word agaist his. They said if I reported it. I would be disfellshipped for slander. Monica, I was done. By the way, he reafended and was sent to prison. The poor girl has had deep mental ussues because of him. The watchtower did not help by hiding this vile person. Thanks for your voice Monica. 🙋

I was D/Fd for asking a elder("Friend") some questions in private, biblical and about CSA)labelled as apostate. They had been looking for an excuse to get rid of me because I was always outspoken . I was a mature Mine Manager and General Manager , They treated all congregants as children .

They definitely don't want someone asking questions, especially questions that expose them. You also sound educated, and they hate that so much because they can't really control you.

wow that was a crazy experience you shared.!
As for other experience. A friend of mine was terrified, because she kept finding notes on her car, regardless if it’s at a store on her job, saying things like, hi beautiful, can’t get you out of my mind, I got my eye on you. Turns out, it was a married elder in her congregation. She told her elders and they said they will handle it quietly and she didn’t go to the police. She moved to another town because she was getting married but she don’t think they did anything !

This is actually so creepy and weird. I would have been so freaked out. Why is there always a weird elder in every congregation hitting on women inappropriately? Because we had one too, in fact we had several.

I had a married elder sexually harassed me too reported it to elder and his wife they were good friends and they told me and my husband that unless he confessed they couldn’t do anything and they knew he was a pervert and the only thing that happened they had a talk on how women should dress appropriately because there are brothers that can’t help themselves blaming the victim of course I never dressed inappropriate I assure you we left shortly after that happy it happened cause if not we would probably still be in.

Here is a crazy experience and you can probably look up videos about it on RUclips. But I know a sister who decided to learn a foreign language and join the Spanish congregation. the congregation were shocked to hear the news that a sister was missing!! Her husband announced that she went to the grocery store and never came back and when he went to the store, he found her car in the parking lot. Fearing the worst, he called the police and many people joined a search party. Well guess what!
Found out she wasn’t kidnapped at all, but ran away with a married ministerial servant. And they came up with that idea, instead of just telling their spouse that they were leaving. I’m going to find the RUclips link so you can watch the news clip.

Too many crazy stories. First to come to mind was when I lived 1/2 mile from movie theater. My sons 5 & 7 walked with me while I carried my baby to the theater.
Next meeting my husband was told I was walking the streets like a hooker.
    Really!?!?!?
Fortunately he thought it was funny. Idk what he said to them but he did ask me if I was ‘trying to pick up a family man’? 🤦‍♀️🤣

I always find it fascinating that you ex Jehovah’s Witnesses, or ex-Mormons won’t take your critical thinking a step further to realize there is no magic man in the sky.

I was just having a conversation with my friend about this yesterday. Many of us who have left these high-control religions still have a lot of internalized fear. That's why many still struggle to speak up about their experiences, let alone to let go of the concept of a man in the sky because we've been indoctrinated to always seek God outside of ourselves.
People are not ready to learn just how powerful they actually are and how much control they actually have over their own lives.
