I look at Amanda Dambuza and think: "man, my future children and future husband deserve the healed and confident version of me!". I have to work hard to be the best woman I have to be.
"My only obligation is to God"...my mom taught me this. In the face of pain caused by others, she's always encouraged me to always treat them with respect and extend a hand of generosity to them when I can. It's difficult but doable through Christ who gives us strength ❤
Loving the unlovable is very hard. But it's possible like you say, through Christ who strengthens us. I knew I had grown when I came to a point in my life where I was okay without telling my side. Being able to sit in the same space with someone who can do anything to see you dead, and still be kind and respectful, is powerful!
God gives us the children to look after so that we can release them to the world. It's my responsibility to breathe God into them and when I say breath God into them it's not read the Bible and go to church. It's self love, belive, faith. How you live your life does more preaching than anything. Our children learn more from us by observing. So you need to make sure that your words are congruent. Your words are in alignment with your actions.... Everything that was said is so powerful ❤️
WHEN U PRAYING FOR A SIGN , AND SUCH VIDEOS POP UP.....Lord thank u....when sexual abuse, emotional abuse and abuse from those who were mean't to protect u happen through them.....Thank u Lord....touchy and motivation. God is the rock of all ages. Every generation will testify and have testified about this Rock. Lord thank u.
Let’s talk about that Kimono that Amanda is wearing! Obviously an inspirational message in this interview... picked up a lot that resonated with me. Thanks Mpoomy... you’re definitely shining!
"I only want to leave people better than I found them" This podcast was an amazing wake up call, it inspired me in ways I cannot explain. Thank you so much
I am one of those women who have a difficult relationship with my mother, and I always get blamed from people around me. Thank you for sharing your story u just validated my feelings. Please do create that support group. Thank you
You are not alone girl. Pleople can seem to fathom that a mother could be emotionally abusive or toxic, so they assume there's something you're doing wrong or you're being overly sensitive. Know that you're not crazy. But seeing her gives me hope that we can heal and thrive despite having that experience.
Omg same here,um naked(dirty)wherever I go.My dearest mom & step sis bad mouthed me with everyone they come across(friends, family, churchmate)Um divorced it was such difficult journey for me & she planted a seed of hatred towards me its sad😭😭The also contributed in my broken marriage & that tears me apart.I forgave them but I dont trust them at am I selfish. Not easy but its ahealing process by the grace🙏🏽
I'm.with you on that one, people judge us without knowing the core of the matter.Mothers are abusing unaware simply attering words like you can't make it without my blessings that's own it's own its bully.
👑👑 Sis Amanda touched on some many aspects of her life that most black girls including myself got to experience but the difference is that she is aware of the foundation and that alone makes me love her for fighting for herself and sanity. Because fighting to be a better person remembering and seeing and trusting God through all those traumas is alone an achievement. Thank you so much sis mpoomy to opening up such platforms with mind awareness conversation ❤
Yoh I feel Amanda when she says "her dream was just to be older"... That was exactly my dream as a young girl that lost her mom and was abused by her stepmother. I just wanted to grow up and do whatever it is that I wanted. #suzettekeybah
I have watched this video so many times ❤️, I read her book and also watched some of her RUclips videos and my summary is that sis Amanda is a healer as her story facilitates and guides people to a state of wholeness through faith, prayer and wise counsel 👏🏼👌🏻🙏🏼. I can say the same about you Mpoomy 🙌🏻❤️ Thank you for blessing us with such an amazing interview ❤️🙏🏼
This episode left me with a lump in my throat, I regret watching it while I'm at work because right now, I just wanna let the tears run down. Thank you so much for this episode, I really needed to hear it right now.
I am still trying to find the right words to describe how powerful, insightful and meaningful this conversation has been for me! It's honestly taken my level of gratitude to the next level. Perspective truly is everything! 🙌 "My life is perfect with all of the negatives in it" Wow 👏😍 💫 A God ordained life ❤
Authentic stuff. For me its when she said"the how is my faith"My relationship with God is soo deep and spiritual" I could relate sis.How hardship teaches one to converse with God at a very tender age.
A few minutes in this and I’m already like yes girl, yesss!!! As much as we need extrinsic motivation, the most important type of motivation is intrinsic and it is vital to be aware of that or else we are forever looking to be validated or cheered for in order to feel able to take on anything. We are able with or without that clap on the back! Be your own cheer and know that God is always our solid rock!
This podcast gave me chills. Thank you ma'am for sharing your story you inspired me. Thank you Mpoomy for having a show like this i would love to have mine one day. Love from Nigeria
I love this: ‘My obligation is only to God’; such a powerful statement! Amazing women of God, discussions like this glorify our Father. Thank you so much 🙏🏽💕🌺!
Im always speechless when it comes to Amanda. But her story really highlights how careful one has to be when making decisions in their lives. The decision you make now can have so much power over your future.
Oh how I love Amanda. For me, she's a symbol of joy - not taking yourself too seriously and having fun. A symbol of being graceful in your success and truly of lifting as you rise. Coming across this conversation is at the perfect time in my life. God's timing 🙌 Mphumi, thank you for holding space so supernaturally and for bringing us these moments.
I literally just clapped my hands because this was such a touching topic and the topic of the mother and daughter relationship just gave me so much emotion because I relate to every emotion she described.
Only 11 minutes into the interview and l am really impressed by the interviewer. Great questions and her wording gives the person being interviewed time to think and respond appropriately. Love it.
I've learnt so much about mentorship, and this has helped me appreciate my mentor more. I think a mentor was kind of forced on me, but I have warmed up to her and now hearing all this, my mentor is so important to me and has always been. I know what I should except from her and her, what from me. Thank you for this. ❤
This was a trigger but like Amanda said we learn to live with the triggers. So I needed to hear this. I guess healing is a journey not a destination in my case.
Her energy after "mother" topic, wow! I felt that in so many ways. I have tears run down by themselves without recognizing my emotions but through hers. May you heal! 🌷🙏 True inspiration!!!
I v been stalling watching this. Today I was ready to absorb. Man I love her self-actualised laugh, to me it says iv been through it and now I’m going to enjoy life.
Amanda, Amanda, wow! I cried so much watching this conversation. A cry of relief. Wow, you're amazing. Healing is possible. Mpumi, beautiful conversation.
This comment might be missed but WOW... I can relate to Amanda's story about writing whilst you are still going through the most. It resonates with me and I needed this. Thank you to both of you... God bless you 😊😊😊😇 I also have a History of abuse and as a result "God is all I have!"
This podcast left me so emotional, I can relate to her 100%. It triggered, taught and inspired me so much. I need the book. Thanks for quality content Mpoomy 🥺♥️
i can so much relate to your story... its okay for a parent to abuse a child but its not okay for the child to talk about... tjoeeee. that was deeep.. i feel you.. even you say, i wish i can tell my story without the sad n abuse part in it... but than if its filtered than its not my story.. am sending you hugs @amanda
