Ich finde er hat denn besten Guitaren Ton seit denn 70ern wieder gefunden❤.
Vom spielen, das immer großartig war und ist, mal abgesehen😊.
I was there and that was one of the happiest days in my life.
Age is just a number! John is 80 and still plays beautifully!
It takes that many years to reach his level.
That's an understatement if I ever heard one! He's still top of the pile .
Yess
Hes 81 years old my neighbor got me into him
Gary Husband, wow. Music geniuses.
Lovely tribute to Pharoah Sanders, and I can't believe how on top of it McLaughlin still is in his 80s.
It amazes me as well. Jeff Beck similarly. Most at that age are up there to please the fans & have a good time, etc.
Wow 80 years old and still playing at this level ... Olee maestro!
The dude is 81 years old. What a great beacon to look to....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Genius of MUSIC 20 - 21 !!!
Undoubtedly the world's greatest guitarist and musician.
Did he break some record ? I hope we will see him in the Olympics, Paris 2024.
Behave 😂
One of the creator’s masterpieces was John Mclaughlin……beauty, fills my life with the spark of inspiration and always an aim…..thanks for 4 decades of guidance,Maestro….
The fireworks are a perfect compliment to his playing 🙂
John singing Is something never seen before, Gary Who can sit at Your choice on drums or keyboards Is priceless
His guitar always sings
He sang on Love Devotion Surrender with Carlos Santana, and probably with Lifetime as well.
john you give me electric dreams.
This groove is very tasty, the band awesome and John as always the sovereign master.
"Peace and harmony for every man" ! Thanks to John, to Pharoah Sanders, and to Amos Leon Thomas Jr. !
July Morning is an annual Bulgarian festival, celebrated on the night before and the first day of July. The festival is unique to Bulgaria but it is not universally observed in the country. A fine backdrop for this beautiful concert !
Wow, at age 81 the man has still got it.
I first saw the Mahavishnu Orchestra on "In Concert" in 1972. They were at the absolute peak of their powers as young musicians. I was completely blown away and I'm still a fan. JM is a truly amazing guitarist, but the rest of the band were equally good. It was simply a great band.
Saw Mahavishnu open for Zappa in Detroit around that time. It took me a year to recover...
I attended their first ever concert, at Carnegie Hall. They played support to It's a Beautiful Day. When the latter came on, most of the audience left.
É possível um não bom músico tocar Pharoah Sanders? E ao lado de JM? Impossível
Wow😳McLau qui chante... 💖....
After Hendrix passed in 1970, John McLaughlin became my favourite guitarist.
Decades after 'My Goals Beyond' and 'Inner Mounting Flame' McLaughlin's playing is as effortless and brilliant as it ever was. A nice tribute to Pharoah Sanders.
Thanks for posting it.
I have seen this man live many times starting 53 years ago.
It blows my mind that he is still the king of both fast and slow, Shredding and melody~!
Thank you for so many unbelievable years~!
Beautiful shot, really well done, thanks for sharing!
Thank you sensei
For the years of transcendental peace of mind when I listen to you from big fun to Shakti Peace Love happiness

Etienne Mbappé - is a Cameroonian bass player living in Paris. His unique style blending West African music with Jazz and Fusion creates exciting music for the ears and soul. Besides playing and singing with his own band Su La Take, Etienne has been working with Joe Zawinul, Ray Charles, Steps Ahead and he is a current member of John McLaughlin's 4th Dimension band. Gary Husband - is an English jazz and rock drummer, pianist, keyboard player and bandleader. He is also a composer, arranger and producer. Husband is a member of John McLaughlin's group The 4th Dimension, he also regularly performs with Germany's Norddeutscher Rundfunk Big Band and as a solo pianist. Born of a professional drummer, Nicolas Viccaro started the drums at the age of 3, then studying at the National Conservatory of Nice, and obtains the 1st Prize of Conservatory before moving to Paris. There, he hit the international scene with prestigious collaborations in Pop Music but also on the Jazz scene passing through the African music and Latin Jazz music.
Husband's drumming with the late great Allan Holdsworth is in a class of its own.
Why does he play with gloves?
@@written12 I thought that too that's a first for me :-) Peace
@@written12 He says he starting experimenting with the idea to get a different sound. He reckons it gives him more control than using his bare skin in the same way that using fingers gives more control of the sound than playing with a pick. He also says that without gloves his hands sweat a lot which affects the sound from the strings. Playing with gloves means he doesn't have to change strings as often.
@@written12I was looking for a comment about it - cause I didn’t saw that before anytime …
Волшебно!!!
What a tribute, thank you.
You're welcome! You definitely deserve far more than just the four likes we've given you!

I confess that this made me fall asleep. I think at 45 I'm 20, 25 years too young for this kind of music.
Not much wrong with some lovely music lulling you to sleep?
I can actually say that in hearing this (I can hear this) that I have reached Nirvana.

Fantastic John, very weird Etienne wears gloves. He should wear white ones... Bad joke😂
“A Love Supreme” it’s not .
The man with the world's worst haircut doing his buzzy bee impressions yet again.
Remarkably bad stage lighting. Wow.
Brilliant stuff, even if the song is silly (lyrically).
What’s silly about the lyrics? What is serious lyrics?

What a horrible shredder!
Sounds bloody terrible, I don't care what others think I saw this guy live and I am wondering "Where the hell is the melody?" he is all over the place, speed but absolutely no identifiable melody.
What a philstine you are
Gracias !

I fell in love with John McLaughlin s guitar playing in 1982 when I really started practicing the guitar to pursue the life of a guitar player. Been lucky to being in touch with him personally and totally stoked to see him in person again in October!!!
John’s playing is pure joy!
One of the demigods descended from the Olympus of Music. One of the stars of the macrocosmic ephemeris of Art. Here, one of the most insignificant admirers, disciple and follower of him. God keep the King in the palm of his hand!🙏🏻. Health, success and blessings from Guayaquil-Ecuador🇪🇨
I can't believe u got 11likes for that lol. but good luck
I don't recall ever seeing John sing. Is this a recent development?
@liminal
You're correct; his music is almost all instrumental. Of course Gail Moran and Narada Michael sang on some of the Mahavishnu Orchestra tracks. Like you, I have never seen him sing lead in the traditional way, but he's certainly done the kind of ensemble singing they do in this vid. Here's another example:
ruclips.net/video/cP1LkjlDII4/видео.html
As a side note, I attended a performance in ~1982 and was up front making photos. At one point John introduced a song that usually has vocals and said, "I wish I could sing". I reflexively responded, "Your guitar sings for you." He apparently heard me, looked in my direction, smiled, kind of shook his head and said, "Yeah . . . yeah".
@@YouzTube99 Thanks for the info. Cheers.
Mr. Ranjit Barot is the usual drummer and sings, and he could not make these gigs.
listener since '74 i never heard him singing either, this is beautiful & fun.
John did a bit of singing with Santana....
on both their albums....
Wow. I've seen Mr. McLaughlin play a few times over the years and am glad to see him still playing. I've loved his work since the 70s.
