I played basketball for a small Christian college in the late 80's. This was our song we would crank when we came out on to the floor. We didn't win a lot, but we were amped up and ready for the game.
This band deserved to be mentioned together with Petra, Whitecross, Stryper and others, as one of the greatest. They are very good in lyrics and composition in general. Unfortunately there are not so many christians that know this band.
@@astronomy7911 There is no perfect christian. Michael owns upon and keeps things real. Honestly if they weren't christian, they wouldn't sing about Jesus and make a fortune, but they don't. They do sing about Jesus,
Man I love this song my friends and I had an air band back in the 80's we used real instruments just did not know how to play them. We always did this song when we did a concert.
Great cross between Def Leppard's two hit songs, "Rock of Ages" and "Armageddon It." Idle Cure was influenced by Def Leppard's "Pyromania" album. This does sound like Def Leppard, except you would not confuse with the band because the vocalists do not sound like theirs...
Wow, A Christian rock band that has a video with hookers smoking cigarettes, prostitution, gangs, guns, guns pointing at people, booze, armed robbery, illegal arms trafficking, speeding, reckless driving, seat belt violation, loitering, and littering. Don't get me wrong.. This is how the message needs to be preached now in this decade. We have become too PC in my opinion. This is an awesome song and a pretty cool video to boot. Wish that this generation could grasp a great message
If you remember back in 1984, MTV, of all networks, rejected Degarmo & Key's music video for "666" because it contained senseless violence. D&K ironically edited out the assumed "senseless violence" scene in order to get it played on MTV.
Yep those old songs reachin' out to sinners cant beatem, wanto probably see if we can download this & show on our 180 sat. night livestream if possible?
They obviously put some time and money into this video, so it's funny that they had him steal a Nissan hatchback or whatever. Couldn't they spring for a Camaro or something at least? 😂
Such a good tune. We must breakaway from worldly desires as we become re-born in Christ.
I know this is from a hundred years ago…well, eight anyway…but you might still be around so I have to ask: what is meant by “worldly desires?” 🤷🏼♂️

I can't believe this didn't get more attention, then or now!

I don't consider Stryper a christan band anymore after seeing the real MIchael Sweet.

Absolutely love this song! Great memories from days long ago!!!
One of my favorites from that era. I still listen to them as part of my mix.

Yeah, the band I played in did a cover of this too. How could you not? It totally rocks!
I still have all the albums on cassette. My friend turned me on to them, because he said they sounded like kiss.
Def Leppard move over, this is real music and with a message that gives you hope!
LMAO, and your message is one of putting down others to elevate some... very positive.
def lepards still good tho but yea this sounds awesome

I still have this cassette but the shirts that I see in this video I used to have been long gone.
Break away from sin!! And, run to Jesus Christ!!!

You got Idle Cure when you mix Kiss, Def Leppard and christian message. LOL!!! :DDD xDD
hahahahaha yeah
I was playing Idle Cure in college and someone asked me if it was the new KISS album.
I think of Ratt's "Round n' Round"
Dokken's "Breakin' The Chains"
Foreigner's "Urgent"
And Def Leppard's "Photograph"
I listened to the band for the first time today Ilike
This song has been in my head since I was a teenager I am 53 years old I went online new a few words of it and thank God I found it
Yep. Used to set my stereo alarm to wake up to this. Oh my parents so hated that.

Agreed. I lost track of them after their second album though.
Sounds almost like Shouts Give me an answer. Or visa versa.
