      The conflict arose because dragons were eating their sheep, not them.

    • @Nazoto
      @Nazoto 2 года назад +3

      @@tylersmith3139 we don't know how it started but humans farming and taking livestock can also be attributed to this. Cause think about it. When humans weren't raising the livestock sheep, pigs and cows roam free and these were what dragons may have hunted but because humans took all of them dragons were left with no choice but to hunt fishes and sometimes steal the livestock. Then since dragons are taking the livestock humans retaliated and dragons defended or retaliated back thus the war

      It was to give an added noticible distance between the generations. If you watched the special, Hiccup and Astrid's kids sound Scottish to illustrate their great difference from their parents, and identifying with their grandparents' generation in their fear and let's kill it attitude towards dragons.

    • @djinnee1792
      @djinnee1792 5 лет назад +26

      Always thought it was because Hiccup's dad (Gerard Butler) who is Scottish didn't want, or wasn't instructed, to change his accent and the other actors followed along because he was playing the village chieftain.

    • @Chris_Cross

      It was also done as a conscious decision.
      The directors wanted to emphasise the difference between the generations. The older generation who didn't want to change, and the younger one who were willing to change. So they gave the older generation accents to set them apart from the kids just that little bit more.

    Very late to the game, but I served Jay one time when I was working at a dispensary in Toronto and he was so kind and low key!! He even was wearing sunglasses and a ball cap so I barely recognized him at first but it was such a nice experience 😊

    Jay Baruchel and Justin Long are a couple actors I wish got more recognition. Justin Long gets an okay amount, but they both deserve more! Great guys, great actors, and they're roughly in my age-range, so I find their roles relatable! :D

    I think its because us canadians grew up with our parents being very passive aggressive towards us that we act that way and pass it on. Its a never ending cycle of passive aggressiveness and I love it lol. We also like to use facts and history to so that killed me at the end hahaha

    One little daring feature the 1st movie had was an end credits song that was in a nordic language (instead of English). The other two did not, let alone the different specials and the Netflix series.

    • @c0ronariu5
      @c0ronariu5 5 лет назад +1

      einat1622 the first movie by far surpassed the other two. As soon as Sanders left, the franchise suffered. DeBlois has a tendency to go OTT on the dramatisation. The first movie was the only one that was self aware and tongue in cheek. The other two films took themselves too seriously and fell just a bit short.

    • @vitamindust1995
      @vitamindust1995 5 лет назад

      @@c0ronariu5 Agreed. Have you watched the TV series? Because I think they retained the spirit/humour of the first movie a bit better than the later 2 films, although the dragons were a bit dumbed down.
