Since I switched to the vegan diet and cut out meat, dairy and eggs, the bad taste I always had in my mouth disappeared. I don’t need a tongue scraper, because my tongue is not coated anymore. It was an unexpected effect and I love it ❤

I had to use both chlorhexidine and diluted camomile drops daily after my orgnathic surgery to prevent the risk of infection. My tongue and some of my teeth became a little stained, but this completely disappeared within a couple of weeks after I stopped using them. Chlorhexidine is important to help prevent infection after oral surgery, the effects of which would be worse.

No mention was made of flossing. When I brush my teeth and floss after, it’s amazing how many morsels of food are dislodged, which would otherwise rot and, presumably, smell as they did so.
It might be that all we have to do is to brush and floss before going to bed, and brush again in the morning. And not risk adverse side effects from chemical mouthwashes; effects that may not become known until much later.

Any mouthwash, rinse or product with birch derived Xylitol works the absolute best for your teeth and oral health but stay away from those with alcohol and any other unnatural ingredients. I use XyloBurst Fresh Breath Oral Rinse Mouth Wash with Natural Xylitol - Alcohol-Free, Fluoride Free, SLS Free Cool Mint. If it too strong, just cut in increments with filtered water. There are others on the market with Xylitol, so you a have a choice. They even have a bubblegum flavored one.
