- This episode shows an awesome journey in a Russian train.. I traveled 700 kms from Moscow to Belgorod.. Russian trains are very comfortable ..
Train from Moscow to Belgorod departs from Kursky station at 11:50 and arrived at Belgorod at 19:16 ..
Major stations covered were Tula, Aryol, Kursk
On the way to Belgorod, you can see the small villages near the train tracks and big forests .. Landscapes looks like Europe ..
Belgorod is in the south west of Russia .. This region is very beautiful ..

Felt very strange looking at Moscow after so many years. I used to fly for Air India and did several trips to Moscow. This was in the 70s and 80s. About 40-50 years ago. Moscow then was just as impressive as now with beautiful buildings and roads but had hardly any goods to offer it's people, much less to tourists. Their shops were bare, with not much on display, not even food items. Being a communist country then, there were no small, corner shops you could go to for food items or toiletries or for that matter, for anything you needed. I remember they had a huge mall called Gum near the Red Square and all the people living in the vicinity had just this mall to go to. There used to be long queues there, with most of the shelves devoid of any goods for sale. Large sections of this mall used to have their lights off as there was nothing to sell.
We used to pack food from home for 3-4 days on every trip to Moscow and share it with the hotel staff!
Enjoyed the journey. It's really simple yet effective narration. Great and beautiful country. 👍👍
