I love my White Nights watercolors, so I am very excited to see this new metal palette! Thanks for the great review. You made me happy when you said "Lo and behold!" 👍😄
They seem to be delicious! 🤭 I want to try them but I'm not sure . Some say they are not so good, but of course, it always depends on the artist. Thanks for your review!
Lol, your rocket art supply organizer is cute. I saw your other video where you replaced this lavender palette because it had gotten so rusty. I guess they (metal boxes) only last about 2 years.
Thanks, I was looking into buying this as an empty tin, but seeing the colors I might as well buy the full palette. I really like the little animation at the end too, its cute :)
I think it’s time to upgrade my plastic White Nights palette. Though, definitely will not use all of the paints included in it. Glad I found this video. 👍🏼
Very creative ending. :) You can reduce the weight of the new paint box by getting rid of the metal pan holder insert and just sticking the individual pans down with Blue Tack. My similar (Schmincke) box, with the pans filled with a little more paint than the ones in your old plastic box were in the video, weighs in at 125g.
@@AlvinMarkArtYou must have a very heavy duty metal box I guess. i.postimg.cc/JhDzkLtN/IMG1.jpg i.postimg.cc/L800WdD0/IMG2.jpg i.postimg.cc/R0KQL2Dt/IMG3.jpg
I always get a little thrill when I see you use your watercolors. I've been such a fan of both you and White Nights watercolor. I always am hopeful they have not changed their "Green" or their "Indian Yellow".
Oh yes ESPECIALLY not green it's the only pg8 I've ever known of! I'm going to be really sad when that happens (and also hoarding a "few" tubes) but seriously I really hope they don't stop producing it!
Were you weighting it with the pans inside? Because the new pans are full, while those in the old box look half empty. So this could make some wight difference on it's own.
Maybe the weight difference is so great because your old pallet is mostly used up? I think weighing the boxes without the pans would be a better comparison. :) anyway, thanks for the video, enjoy your new palette!
I want to buy the tin so badly, unfortunately the st Petersburg website is out of stock of this set. The colours are so vibrant and the set is just *muah*. Also, I loved the video!
Ooohhh!!! Alvin, I missed this video and asked for the palette in another comment today! I am so sorry!!! (how did I miss this video...🤔probably because there is nothing like before nowadays...) Stay Safe!!! 🍀
It's nicer to have full pans than smaller pans in those small boxes, because the brush tips don't have to be used to get paint, but can be used sideways as you did in your video. The brush tips stay pointed for longer. By the way - when you weighed the two sets, you were comparing partially filled pans with full pans. If you weigh it again, now that the pans are switched out, I'll bet it already weighs less. However, when they both accidentally drop onto concrete, metal wins every time!
Yes, good point regarding the weighing. At that point when I was about to weigh, I realised the pans weren’t going to make as much difference as the boxes.
To be honest Im interested just because that cute tin box colors XD its so lovely to look at
:D Yes it is... and they all are. That's why many of us artists go broke in art stores :)
This is exactly my case! I have the plastic 12 set and want to buy metal travel set.
I hope you are having fun with it :)
Cool pencil case! 😆 Enjoy your new set of paints.
Yay! I can't want to get that attached to my magnetic easel too! :D
excellent 👌 art work very neat
Thank you very much
Exciting to have a convenient upgrade! Keep up the great work.
Anita Rao lets wait for the first month to pass, then I’ll know whether the cleaning up is as straight forward as the plastic one.

Haha! Merci merci

They are! The only thing I would say is how one or two colours would melt in the tropical climate that I'm in. Otherwise... all good! :)

Yes, it keeps me on the search for better tools all the time 😊

Jane zine2me Morrison yeah, I know only a handful who uses white nights. Those that do, afore it.

Yes, it was a new set of pans in the new metal box vs some half pans in the plastic one... but the weight is almost negligible.
Awesome! I got this palette empty from my local art store but I haven't used it yet. I just have too many palettes and I keep using the old ones.
Hope you enjoy it! :)
I meant to add - that must have been a nice session in St Petersburg to attend.
Phi Squared you bet it was 😀

what do you use white for?
I use it for mixing... especially for pastel-like colours and greys.
Love The colors thank you for sharing xo Denina
