    4:22 - Thank you so much for at saying this 🙏 Else it would have been a grave injustice to Maharishi Agastya (Agathiya Munivar) whom sat in Madurai within the temple halls or the ceremonious decorated pattimandram (debate/discussion) halls teaching Tamizh and imparting the values, culture, traditions etc. to the people of Dakshina Bharat which happened under supervision of the Early Pandya kings during the Sangama Period. Also the 'Puli Kodi' or the 'Tiger Flag' was given to the First Chola king by none other than Maharishi Vyagrapadar in presence of Maharishi Patanjali whom had advised the King to build the Chidambaram Natarajar temple and take a dip in the temple kulam (or pond) to cure his ailment of leprosy. When he did so his skin became golden in texture thus getting him the name 'Hiranyavarman' . He was handed over the Puli Kodi by Saint Vyagharapaadar (Tiger feet) to represent this ceremonious occasion. Tamizh history has great history and even Tamizh is mentioned by Sri Rama in the Ramayana especially that Maharishi Agastya was contributing to it immensely as said by Lord Shiva whom founded Tamizh. Muruga Perumal's (Bhagwan Karthikeya's) most favorite language is Tamizh.

The word SENGOL has just become popular and to know the history behind it is really enlightening. Symbolism is a very powerful way of representing important messages. Sengol represents one such effort. 🙏

    1:27 - Ko (கோ) in Tamizh means king. So, Konmai (கோன்மை) roughly gets translated as 'kingship' (i.e., the attribute & behaviour of being a king). Senkonmai (செங்கோன்மை) may be translated as 'kingship of high integrity'. Sengol (செங்கோல்), therefore, may be considered to represent a symbol of kingship of high integrity.

    • @kunalandevakirubai8136

      Well interpreted.
      There are many nuances of interpretation as Tamil words and grammars allowed for multiple meaning from a single word but differs accordingly to the contextual relevance with content it's purporting the respective message.
      Nevertheless most interpretation relates the basic of the message of conduct of exercising the rights of authority to serve the people justly by the leaders and to be followed justly to reap the benefits collectively as a society of good wellness and well being.
      This is my insight into the importance of SENG+KOL (and not gol as many take on the anglicised or romanised form of pronouncing the Tamil world).
      Cheers 🥂

      @gb-universe-9001 Год назад +1

      @@suneelsingh9580 The actual translation of the verse in question is: "Full rains and yields enrich the land Which is ruled by a righteous hand".
      The verse primarily talks about abundant yield & rains, if the ruler is righteous. Corn might have been added by western translators to emphasize meaning for their audience.

    • @kunalandevakirubai8136
      @kunalandevakirubai8136 Год назад

      @@suneelsingh9580 for ur info ... it mentions "Crop" more than Corn
      But corn as been mentioned in other Tamil literatures as "Solum or Sorgum" (Jowar in Hindi) which is very similar to current corn family (genus) but slightly different.
      Sudan, Ethiopia and central Africa is predominantly thought of the origin Bcos of the many varieties found in Africa, although it is found in india and Asia too (in wild) but lesser varieties and so the belief that the Portuguese brought it here for cultivation. My belief is it was existent in india and Asia but not discovered and recorded so.
      Coming to Thirukural itself, the possible right contextual explanation is as below to fit into the content of the couplet in entirety - justice.
      Hope it does justice to clear ur well noticed and founded doubts in the narration.
      Cheers 🥂 (see below for a truer translated meaning )
      குறள் 542: (As in Tamil language)
      வானோக்கி வாழும் உலகெல்லாம் மன்னவன்
      கோல்நோக்கி வாழுங் குட.
      Kural 542: Meaning in Tamil:
      உலகில் உள்ள உயிர்கள் வாழ்வதற்கு மழை தேவைப்படுவது போல ஒரு நாட்டின் குடிமக்கள் வாழ்வதற்கு நல்லாட்சி தேவைப்படுகிறது

    One thing - If dharmadanda is designed specially for the king - who is the political head of a country - to uphold dharma, then in modern times in our country, the president and the PM must be the inheritors of this danda or Sengol. Now, political parties are not all about power - they acquire power to uphold specific ideologies which are reflected in their administrative process. Thus it is supremely important which party and PM+ President coming with their support holds the specter of power in their hands. Making all party look the same is not the proper way to go. Sengol, in some hands, can turn into a walking stick.

    Thank you, well done. My father used to teach something like this. He also taught that the kings brought this understanding to the people by having the Pathumai, human form sculptures or idols. As a person passes them the Pathumai will ‘speak’ to remind them of the values embraced by the king. Also, they had it on the steps leading to the palace and other places of importance. Perhaps they had sensors or human touch technology as a form of electronic communication in an attractive way to gain attention. Sadly, they were stolen to copy the technology and reprogram it or they were damaged and broken down construing it as idol worship. Later, to appear magnanimous the culture of having such figurines were made and became a market. There is a way to identify those that has the power and those that are mundane. Those with ‘power’ helped people absorb the divine energy and be enlightened and those without power held cosmetic effect. It is an ancient concept manifesting in the present that truth is the epitome of joy and happiness. Today we say ‘ truth will set you free’. It is not wild freedom to speak we need, but disciplined freedom. It is also not the liberty to choose but the discipline in choice. Were the invasions of temples in search of these power centres?

This has been an integral part of Kerala’s royal system since the Cheras. “Kireedam and Chenkol” meaning “Crown and Sceptre” is a very common usage in Kerala to denote power. As an extension dharma danda has been in vogue in north India as well. I am so happy that we brought this important symbol of identity to the national level.

    I propose to make Tamil the national language though I am not from the south. South India has preserved the Hindu dharma and culture than the north. And also my mind is not poisoned by some political party about language supremacy. Any Indian language is acceptable except Urdu as the national language.

    Mah Annaya is Always on Point. I follow Dharmic path and it teaches me to respect all religions especially if it's Dharmic(righteousness, humanity, responsibility etc..). Hope the fragile secular peeps out there do understand it and learn it instead of instigating unnecessary issues as it only shows how illiterate and ignorant they are and also leading to the destruction of peace and harmony of the nation.

    It is the sense and pride of Nationality we Indians should be proud of. This is lacking in many national or regional political parties and people. Untill we stand for Bharath our children may not enjoy the freedom and abundance that is.

    A well researched work on the Indian concept of Dharma and it's symbol Chemgol or Dharma Dhandu. One has to go beyond the narrow path of rationalism to appreciate the greater significance of the symbolic function on yesterday before our new parliament house.
    My hearty congratulations for this informative video.

    Excellent work. Those who oppose are fools. Politicians especially. Crocked minded. Mr. Narendra Modiji loves his motherland INDIA.
    None of his predators (other than Mr. Modiji) loved Bharatham. Who had or have the guts to do or chant the slogas or mantras by the tamil heads of atheenams' in Tamil Nadu. There where Sanathana Dharma is upheld by Modi and his team. Never there is going to be a better Priminister other Mr. Modiji in future India.
    Do anyone remember the Indian rupee coins that were engrave or embossed with a cross of a particular religion. ? Why din't any body raise there voice against such an act? Simple answer is the vote bank? Vested interest. ? For political gains. Power mongers.
    Please continue your research and teaching. God bless
