Fully concur on that Muddy Waters record, specifically the analogue productions copy, the soundstage on that record is like nothing I’ve heard before, it’s absolutely incredible. Great video as always Jonathan and thank you for the information on the Steely Dan delays. It is always best to let the customers know what is happening. And I realize that you are the front man for this news. However, to say that the delay is beyond the control of Analogue Productions is simply not true. The Steely Dan series could have and should have been completed a year ago. Eight other UHQR's have been released since the Steely Dan announcement. Numerous other projects have begun. A commitment to the customer was made and forgotten about.
Forget the vinyl.. where are the SACDs...

Hello Jonathan. I would like to propose a new section in your newsletters. I would like you to take from the entire Acoustic Sounds catalog to suggest the "must have" albums that a music lover should have. I mean that there are many authors or groups that I don't know and I would like someone to recommend me where to start listening to someone. I am from Santiago de Chile and I have bought reel to reel by Rebecca Pidgeon without ever having heard it. I was crazy with his music and sound of the tape. Basically, they should show us the most emblematic of each album in their catalog so we can know what to buy, greetings Jonathan and Chad, from Chile.
You didn't give a shout out to the 2 new SACDs you show as new arrivals from the 75th anniversary Atlantic collection. Those of us collecting the SACDs are excited about seeing some movement on that front.
Why does the Acoustic Sounds Store say "The Celebration of Duke" comes out in November? Which is right this week or November? Thanks

Why the delay on the Steely Dan UHQR releases?
The news on the remaining Steely Dan UHQRs for Katy Lied and Royal Scam being delayed even further is very disappointing. I just do not get it considering the deal was consummated over a year ago. How is this possible that Universal still can dictate terms considering I assume contracts would have been signed. Total BS. for the fans of this band.
I agree, there's definitely something else going on. Universal, I don't buy it. I canceled my orders months ago & I'm glad I did.
@@TheLarsonmanor I agree with you, something does not seem right. Back on September 22, 2022, ON THIS CHANNEL, Donald Fagen appeared with Chad and Fred Kaplan & Donald Fagen expressed his excitement and approval for these releases. Maybe there is more to it. The then-new equipment dbx noise reduction system used for Katy Lied had a malfunction back in late 74-75 and may be contributing to further delays of Katy Lied. I hope I am wrong about this. I did cancel the last two UHQR'S previously AFTER THE first time Katy Leid was delayed. I will take my chances. FOMO IS NO MORE.
@@thevinylmuseum2958 If that were true, then wouldn't only Katy Lied be delayed? The Royal Scam test pressing is already finished. It was mentioned in a previous release video.
@@MichaelTrogdon1990 All I know is that the release date of Katy Lied has been altered twice. Katy Lied was scheduled to come out before Aja and Gaucho. The Universal thing I just don't know. I already own a UK first press and Mofi of Katy Lied and It would be nice to finally complete the set. By the time these two UHQRs are released it will be 2-1/2 years since the Major announcement. For future projects where a label can dictate terms no matter how long the deal is for, best to underpromise and overdeliver.
It’s a shame that they delay Steely Dan’s UHQR for so long,they’ve been announcing the dates for a long time,and in the meantime they’re releasing other UHQR.I don’t understand it.
Regarding Katy Lied and The Royal Scam, will the Hi-Res streaming files still be released to music streaming services like Qobuz or are they delayed as well? I hope we get the Hi-Res version of Katy Lied on 9/27. Thanks.
