Melvin Davis and Oscar Seaton, what a combo and what a drum solo! Would love to see Lee hook up with Abraham Laboriel again - those two have some amazing chemistry going back decades!
A tasty piece playd at a very high level by talented players who play wonderfully together. Very nice indded. Sophiticate and juses restraing wonderfuly to reveal the detail and the messing of that detail to fore a unifiec 'dance' of the parts. Marvelous!
Thank you so much for your 'keen' observations.. can you please post a list of the elevators you frequent as I would very much like to spend sometime in them myself.
Well Darn it, he is comming to sweden in 2016 but theres a 18 year age minimum. I don't get it, that just alienates the younger crowd and im only 16. Gosh dern it.
What's so "sophisticated" about jamming over the easy chords of an old bossa tune? Lee doesn't really even play the melody correctly, kinda slops through it.
first: it isn t easy chords Second: compared to popular music now a days, this cover is a LOT sophisticated Third: the fact that he slops through the music shows that he doens t want to imitate the original song, but he wants to create something new Fourth: I bet he isn t talking about this music or his musics in particular but about the music style he plays or others (like him ) play ( kind of jazz and ect )
The more sophisticated it is, the better the music? Go listen to Schoenberg, and all the contemporary classical music then. They are complex compositions. (Compositions, not “songs”)
I like lee ritenour

Damn one of the few bassists I've ever seen who actually justifies using a 7-string bass
Great cover, and messing with the time signature was a touch of genius!
Pro trick: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Hugo Carmelo yea, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :)

Chumley Shaver
I suppose you can play it better???
It's still a 9 minutes song; that's already a bit sophisticated...
