I have the same trouble with speed runs. My steering control system is really fast and it's just too easy to oversteer and then crash. OH well, we just have to keep on going, no matter the cost$$$$.
KEEP ON BASHING, OR SPEEDING! FROM BARRIE ONTARIO CANADA
Put less steering travel, its gonna help a lot for speed run and also remove stability control for speed run👍🏻
@@fontaine_dh9960 that’s a very good idea. I’m not sure if the steering rate is adjustable with Traxxas controllers? If it is that could definitely help as well
Yep just keep on moving forward! About all you can do!
Bro I feel ur pain lol get a look at my channel Sam court rc
Awesome run. Just keep on doing what you're doing, you will reach the speeds your reaching for. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Simple green works great it’s what we use in rc drag to clean out tires
thanks for the tip!
cool speed run, bummer on the wreck, cool stuff bro
Thanks. Yeah it was a major disappointment but I’ll figure something out
Hey bro, i think you need tow hands to control the slash and put less steering travel.
Also remove the tsm (stability control for speed run.
Try to stick a phone holder on your controler to film and drive whit tow hands at the same time
I totally agree with you. I need to try that out or find someone to film for me when I’m doing these speed runs
Bro I agree 100%
Hobbytown sells some great metal detectors! But seriously, that is one part you should have several extras of. I have what I call my field kit with a good assortment of hardware and parts for 11 cars. I just don’t want my day ruined when out trying to have some fun.
Great video as usual btw! 👍
Thanks! A lot of time I don’t come prepared or if I do it’s something that I don’t have with me that breaks lol 😂
Man those magnets on the car everytime you move it sounds crazy strong
You mean the motor magnets?
@@RCKnockout yeah☑
@@alexnava7664 yeah it’s a pretty strong motor. It shouldn’t have any issue getting this rig over 100mph
I think we are gonna need off-roading vids with the Rubicon next!
I already have some. Unfortunately my “go to” place is not really an option anymore and I don’t have any off road parks anywhere close to me really
highly recommend using mip axles, yes they are expensive but they work great!
The concern I have is that even those could possibly break. The stub axle pin hole is the point where it always breaks. It all has to do with the way the 17mm adapters attach. You have to tighten down the hex screw all the way down so it tightens right up against the pin. That’s why they’re all failing. I’ve tried loosening them a bit to lessen the stress in that particular area but I can’t loose it very much at all. Otherwise the pin could fall out. That’s why I’d probably try to go back to the stock 12mm hexes and try to find some larger tires hopefully with 12mm hexes
@@RCKnockout what type of axles are these? Also is it possible to either remove or cut holes in the factory front bumper. It might help reduce drag.
@@brucetec6597 yes they are
www.ebay.com/itm/282631142030
@@brucetec6597 yeah I probably should look into removing the entire front bumper if I can
Sorry bro I haven't been on we bit fed up lol love this car at the end of the day bro no one els is doing what ur doing and that's why i love ur channel bro
Thanks bro! 😎
Get rid of those shafts and make it an XO-Slash. I couldn't be happier with the XO-1 CV conversion for my 4X4 Stampede. Besides it's rated for the higher speeds anyway. Now if I can get the thing to stay bound to the Traxxas Link app that would be an accomplishment!!! 😂🤣😂
We will see going forward. Maybe I’ll switch to something like that
Awesome effort! Keep it up. Those double U-joint axles aren’t very well balanced or suited for high speeds. As others mentioned MIP axles would be a better choice. Also, before I go on high speed runs, I’ll run the car on a stand at my bench at 100% throttle with the wheels off and check to see if I have any bad driveline vibrations.
Good luck!
I'm here my friend
Watching u'r video with a cup coffe ☕
Thanks for watching! 👍😉
Your videos are awesome 👌👏😎!!!
Thanks 😊
Good run, but I know the feeling when things go bad.
Thanks! Yeah it definitely didn’t end how I had hoped 😕
looking good bro
Thanks 😊
I am so sad now I taught it could make it but it didn't. But you have to learn from the mistakes. GOOD LUCK
Appreciate it! Going back to the drawing board I guess
@@RCKnockout is it not over/under geared?
@@maartencoppens7312 no I think the gearing is fine how it sits
@@RCKnockout you maybe can try 1thoot more on the pinion to see if it goes faster
@@maartencoppens7312 I’m sure it probably would. Finding a 35t gear might be the hard part?
Big , big wreck. The car looked good though today.
It looked good before the crash lol 😂
I recommend getting some jb weld epoxy for the splitter
Gorilla glue works pretty good. I’ve kinda gotten used to it breaking whenever I crash then I just reglue it back on lol 😂
Btw get a sky Rc gps
@@cbossplayz3555 I’ll have to look into it thanks 😊
That was awesome thank you lol
@@kevinmoore1401 glad you liked it!
9s slash 🥶
That might be a bit excessive lol 😂
The windshield cutout? Maybe you need the wind flow over the body and not trough the body
Probably right about that.
Nice 👍 make more videos
@@RBTheMechanic thanks! They’ll be more videos coming soon 👍😉
Maybe buy a big magnet like people use for magnet fishing to help find your parts. Great video. Keep trying
That’s probably not a bad idea. The grass is so thick though. That if the part that broke made it through to the bottom it would be difficult to get a magnet in there especially with the amount of ground I’d have to cover
@@RCKnockout I bought one a few years ago that will pull 500lbs it will grab anything thats metal. It was about 85 dollars.
@@kg5nja693 that’s a lot for a magnet though. So how far off the ground does the magnet work? I need one that would be above the grass. Probably 2.5 to 3 feet off the ground and still work
Nice! I always follow your videos, subscribe!
Thanks! I appreciate the support 👍😉
That's too bad man. 70 is still pretty impressive with the body on!
Don't give up
Use the stock 4x4 drive shafts!
127mph and no problems.
Speed setup doesn't have bashing torque oh, you know as you ease in the throttle the driveshafts will last👍
That’s true. But the stub axles will still break in the event of a crash. They’d be cheaper to replace though
@@RCKnockout traxxas sells just the stub axle for the drive shaft, so you can just replace the end stub. Traxxas 6853x
@@lenniekroher3740 yeah I think I actually have a pack of them somewhere. But the stock shafts will still break from wear. The metal joint elongates the plastic ear until the ear finally breaks off. It seemed to happen all the time
@@RCKnockout then you are not easing in on the throttle.
I have a slash 2 wheel drive 127 miles an hour stock Traxxas axles.
I have a slash 4 x 4 also over a hundred miles an hour stock Traxxas axles.
Also you need a new body and do not cut any holes in it! Would you take out the windows in your Corvette to see if you can go faster? Even a pickup truck would you take the windows out on the highway to see if it would go faster? Speed Run bodies are all about aerodynamics and you are letting the air inside the vehicle the air is hitting the roof it's going to fly as usual
@@lenniekroher3740 thanks for the tips
great run man, sucks to see it wreck
Appreciate it man! Yeah I was definitely bummed out. I’ll figure something out though
Can you not find a large parking lot or something? That way when you spin out, you can just release the throttle and let it slowly come to a stop. When I used to fly rc airplanes, i would use the local college football stadium parking lot which had tons of paved space. Maybe a large church parking lot as well. Also I have concerns with using a GPS to track speed. I've seen too many times when GPSs give an incorrect speed because the signal jumped. I'm thinking either a timed and known distance so you can calculate speed or maybe a speed radar gun.
I would recommend you to get tekno 4x4 driveshafts
I don’t wanna swap to there plastic hubs in the rear otherwise I probably would try them out
@@RCKnockout There plastic hubs are really durable.
@@RCKnockout I didn't want to either but seriously the single best purchase I made for my stampede. And they supply extras just in case
@@kevenv6229 no doubt. But then there wouldn’t be any use for my aluminum hub carriers
Look like you hit 100 mark
Not quite lol 😂
I have a Fiesta Rally and want a pickup body low like yours for street, what mounts are those from? XO-1?
No they’re the Proline mounts for the Slash 4x4
@@RCKnockout ok ty
@@RayRiv73 you’re welcome
Can you tell me where i can buy those axels...they look dope!
Yeah here’s the link
www.ebay.com/itm/284250394545?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iEua2WAaS4O&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=WRx7xnYpQ6i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@RCKnockout thank you my man! never had any issues with them? And Awesome awesome build! 🔥🔥🔥
@@RayRiv73 Thanks! I did break one but that wasn’t until I went 4s……I think the only axles arguably stronger are the MIP driveshafts…..because they don’t have the hole for the pin in the stub axle….that’s the weakest point where mine ended up breaking
@@RCKnockout have you tried tekno axels?
@@RayRiv73 I have not…..forgot about the Tekno ones……Tekno might be up there too
And do your burnout on a carpet it will save your tires
Can use another carpet with the simple green and clean your tires
Keep up the good work
@@theworry184 thanks!
Probably would get them stickier if i did the burnout on blacktop or concrete? Definitely would compromise the life span of the tires though lol 😂
@@RCKnockout Do it on
with some dried simple green on it Will heat up the simple green the carpet and tires make it nice and sticky and hot
@@theworry184 thanks for the recommendation!
I'm thinking a radio with a gyro might help (correct me if I'm wrong)
Traxxas radios do have one.
@@susieq2334 Not all of them
@@keaginm2791 did not know that. Good to know!
@@susieq2334 The higher end ones have them, the TQ's dont have them but the TQI's do 👍
@@keaginm2791 Gotchuuuu
Paint parts hi viz yellow or orange
That’s definitely an idea lol 😂
Lmao 😂😂 don't feel bad 💯💯 I went air Borne too lmao on my last video
Slash isn’t made to be a speed machine lol
Do you have any College Football or basketball stadiums/arenas near? Could definitely try some passes in their parking lot(s) and see!
Does the sand gives less speed?
What sand?
SKYRC SK-500023 GPS + GLONASS Performance Analyzer
Thanks! Yeah I’ve been getting comments on the SkyRC gps
Skyrc or Hobbywing GNSS gps with Phone app... most accurate
I’ll have to look into those ones thanks 😊
Use Simple Green instead of Iso it won't dry out your tires
Thanks for the tip!
At this point its just a race car with a slash body 😂
What motor mount is that?
I got it on EBay…not sure of the brand but it’s for the LCG chassis
Simple green will be the best thing to use alcohol's gonna hard in the plastic Overtime
I didn’t use it on plastic. I just used it on the tread of the rubber tires
@@RCKnockout Still bad for the tires simple green is better and make them sticky
Why I was saying used the carpet with simple green on it that is dried up will make the tires really nice in sticky
@@theworry184 gotcha. Thanks for the info
@@RCKnockout Thank you for the awesome videos keep up the good work
Window and rear body cutouts are designed to keep your car from parachuting during jumps. You lost all your downforce when u removed the rear wing and cut the body holes..
I doubt I lost “All” of the downforce lol 😂
I get your point though
I think the shaft snapped at 70mph
Not sure? Maybe
Gosh dang
Love the content hate hearing GUYS a thousand times
Fast tho
In my opinion, the windshield is probably 75% of your down force.
You might be right? It’s the rear end that’s getting loose though
Yeah but that's because the only downforce you do have is the very very front, and like I said before those hoons are horrible at high speeds.
@@acerig4675 I’ll have to figure something else out 🤔
Dude buy the sky rc performance tracker 😂
I have the GNSS speed meter now
SkyRC
Why do you constantly insist on keeping your hand in the frame?!
Darn....Looked promising until she went out of control.
Yeah it was feeling pretty stable before that too
fuck me bro I'm so sorry love this car
Thanks man! Me too!
Sky RC links to your cell phone.

That is not that strong rc
Yeah it is. I crashed it at 70mph. Stuffs gonna break at those speeds
Shite!!!
