    Ange said in the press conference they are focussing on recovery with a light training session. This has more to do with a lack of squad depth due to the lack of recruitment being compounded by a game every three or so days.

    So his training at Brisbane, Yokahama, and Celtic which brought high intensity attacking football and ,ultimately, success is too tough for the 'elite' Premier League players.... !!??

      Maybe it wasn’t his training that brought high intensity football, rather having better players than the rest of the league

      Another Ange fan who knows nothing about football. Australia, Japan and Scotland don't hold a candle to the English Premier League.

      Did you forget that time the Scottish FA delayed an old firm game because Ange had an injury crisis, as the game up here is corrupt?
      Spurs thought they were getting a good managed based on his padded record in Scotland.

    How can pundits be so uniformed on the issues when it is their job to know these things. Ange and several players have come out in interviews recently and said that they're not even training hard, as they're just doing recovery sessions. The problem is when you have a few injuries and the same players have to play every few games, you then begin to ge more injuries due to fatigue, so it's a downward spiral. If they got 2/3 players in the window then this would allow some rotation of the remaining players, which then leads to fewer injuries. This is not rocket science.

    As a NUFC fan I can sympathise with Spurs because we had the same situation when we played in the CL season. You need a squad to compete in the PL and in the European competitions.

      Spurs fan here and I thank you you for your sympathy. But trust me my friend you guys were in a different position to us. You guys had issues with FFP and you had a player out on a ban. So you couldn’t upgrade your squad, as your hands were tied. We, on the other hand have a chairman worse than Mike Ashley, who refuses to put his hand in his pocket and properly back any of our managers. Don’t feel sorry for us. We’ve totally brought this on ourselves. Or should I say, levy us set us back no end.

    • @abiodunoni420
      @abiodunoni420 6 часов назад

      @@AK47_. Do you honestly think any top player with ambition would choose Tottenham over the other top clubs in the league even if Tottenham is willing to pay more? You are currently shopping at your level no matter how much money the chairman provides you still won't be able to sign the top talents.

    Didn’t last season wreck them over injuries too? As far as I know Tottenham has been wrecked with injuries over 2 seasons. The interesting question is did Ange have similar injuries at his other clubs? Liverpool did indeed have injuries but they also had a bigger squad and owners that will spend. Deeny opinions are as great as his playing career and that was unmemorable

    • @ChrisWRR
      @ChrisWRR 12 часов назад +3

      Ange had the exact same issue at Celtic, but he's no longer in a farmer's league so he's getting exposed. The sooner he's gone the better.

      I read somewhere he actually admitted he had problems with his training methods causing injuries at other clubs. If there is any truth in this I find it mind boggling .

    • @davidmcgeoch9387
      @davidmcgeoch9387 Час назад

      Most attacking coaches will have some issues at some point as attacking involves pressing.
      It happened to Poch, Klopp, Emery and Howe.
      The main issue is Tottenham have been tight on the purse springs and have not given him the depth he needs.
      The fans were also adamant they wanted to compete in all competitions, so Ange has done his best to do that.
      It will get better as the players bodies become more robust and get used to the workload needed.
      Will also get better if Tottenham can add to their playing depth and have a stronger bench.
      The people whinging about it both 1) wanted attacking football and for Tottenham to compete in the cups, 2) are not thinking about the full context of what’s happening.
      They want the benefits but aren’t happy with the drawbacks.

  • @adrianbennett3761
    @adrianbennett3761 13 часов назад +8

    It can’t be pure coincidence. Spurs need to investigate why they’ve suffered so many muscle injuries. MVDV might be fast but he’s no good when he’s constantly injured

    • @davidmcgeoch9387
      @davidmcgeoch9387 Час назад

      We don’t have the depth in our playing squad to play in all competitions.
      The fans desperately wanted to go for it in the cups. So Ange has done his best to do that.
      The fans also wanted attacking football. Ange plays attacking football, but this can also lead to some more injuries as it involves pressing.
      It’s not just Ange. It has happened to Pochettino, Klopp, Emery and Howe before.
      Injuries tend to be compounded because when you get some injuries it puts additional strain on the remaining players.
      The only things that can be done is to bring in some new players to help provide cover and energy.
      Or we are going to have to just live with it. It will be temporary and it will end up getting better.
      The players bodies will become more robust as they get used to the workload.
      I certainly wouldn’t recommend sacking Ange. He’s just trying to do his job with the resources he has.
      If we had more depth in the playing squad the team would be able to cope with it better.

  • @ulfanfinneriksen4643

    This has happened to a couple of teams every season now. There are too many games. You need a bigger squad to rotate.

    • @abiodunoni420
      @abiodunoni420 5 часов назад

      That argument is a bit flawed because only a handful of teams actually play more than the average number of games if they progress in cup competitions. Everyone plays the standard 38 league game and maybe 5 cup games that's it for most players. So are they going to start making concessions to only teams that progress further in cup competitions?? Where's the fairness in that??

      You are right. The training sessions at the moment are ballwork sessions or recovery sessions. The players are playing every 3 days.
      If we look at the injuries too. Very few were on the training ground.
      Only Solanke and I think one more. Solanke was practicing goal kicking too. Wasn’t running at the time.

    Ange is stubborn and refuses to learn from past issues. In 2021 the Scottish press featured articles about the number of muscle especially hamstring injuries Celtic players were suffering from. His training hasn’t changed and now Spurs players are suffering in the same way

  • @newwavecafe
    @newwavecafe 8 часов назад

    Yes is this the big question, is Ange unlucky or are his training methods and style of play causing these injuries. Maybe the pace of the Premier League is too much for play the way he wants to play. I guess we'll find out in the coming weeks.

  • @davidmcgeoch9387
    @davidmcgeoch9387 2 часа назад

    They aren’t doing hard fitness training at the moment, because they play every 3 days.
    If you look at the injuries they are getting there are very few from training.
    Am pretty sure it was just Solanke and one other injury.
    Solanke got injured practicing kicking at goal.
    It’s not the training. It’s the squad depth.
    We currently only have the first 11. No rotation.

    Injuries are preventable. Only a person with zero conviction would blame them. Which are many people in football. All professional sport should be like military boot camp. If you don't get ahead, you get *behind* and that is why you need to take care of your bodies so that you're available for selection and earn your keep deservedly.
