Koa-You know what we want... Your lady Surfing Waikiki. That will get you 100K. Lol JK. a little.... How come you don't surf Kaisers? I surfed there a bunch back in the day.
No why are your vlogs so good and your apl the time uploading i need to get to 100 before you reach 100 k. Why? Because it sounds like a hard and sick goal.
Reading the title I was waiting for those huge Waikiki waves! I once woke up one morning in 1995, looked out the window from my house in St Louis Height near Manoa, and saw waves between hotel buildings which I had never seen! Called the buoy and heard 9 feet 20s! I couldn't believe it. Went to Waikiki and brought a 6'5", prompting the lifeguard to run out to me and ask if I knew what I was doing. Surfed way out trying to keep position aligning with the church... very strong currents but some pretty easy big waves! Ala Moana looked deadly, some Pipe surfer was rescued by helicopter that day. Next day surfed Big rights at Ala Moana, with huge barrels, only 4 guys out and North Shore jet ski patrol on duty. That's also when Garret McNamara surfed some never surfed point somewhere on the South West side. Didn't check but heard West side was around 12 feet Hawaiian with 15 foot sets! Oh, we also lost our Singaporean ex-roommate on that day. Lost at sea, his body and bodyboard was never found!
Jon, the 1995 swell was huge. I surfed Waikiki a bit but had Big Lefts in Ala Mo to myself until 2 other guys (one I knew well) paddled out. It was big! Peak of the swell. One of the other guys came in with a broken board unfortunately.
You must be so stoked! No tourists and killer waves! I'm jelly. Those waves looked so fun. That breakfast place is my favorite! Their avacado toast is bomb.
@Koa Rothman Hey Koa, could you make the video in which you explain how to read weather forecast maps to find out where good swells are gonna hit the beaches/reefs? Would be so helpful!
I came to visit my parents in Waikiki for a few weeks and my brother told me about this amazing shop for smoothies and bowls that he found when he was here in January, so I went on a run this morning and then went to the shop and saw you were one of the founders!! so cool! It was delicious! xx
Can't wait to come back to Hawaii..... we miss it so much! We stay at the Outrigger when we're in Waikiki..... love it! Thanks for sharing your day with us. 🌊🌞
Thanks for sharing that Spectacular Kaisers/bowls footage! Maybe it's me being just a barney from the mainland but that was my favorite video I've watched of you and the crew. I've always loved the South Shore and the beauty of the Diamond Head backdrop. Much Aloha to you Koa!
Hi from Japan ! Surprising big waves in Waikiki !! Yes definitely I would like to see you surfing in Ala Moana area and hopefully at Diamond Heads. Enjoy !! Hope to visit Hawaii very soon after COVID-19 !!!!!
Hey! Looked like you guys had killer sessions at Bowl! I surfed at Queens, Pops and 3’s. Waves were super fun! Hopefully we’ll have more waves next week. Looking forward to seeing your awesome riding on the RUclips 🏄♂️again!
We stayed @ the Surfrider Hotel when we got married 3 years and our balcony was right behind where Koa was in the beginning of the vid. Surfed 3-4' Waikiki several times while we were there. Want to go back as soon as the virus subsides. We live through Koa in the meantime and THANK YOU for the awesome videos guys!
Koa you're awesome! So fun following you. I live in what's been claimed as"The loneliest City in America" Loyalton California, pop 768. It's in the Sierra Valley in the Sierras. I grew up in Orange county and in the 60s I was a Wedge rat but now, well let's say at 70 it's my past but surfing is still my favorite sport. So cool to watch your life journey. This is living still applies in the Sierras.
Liveing in town and country. Back and forth. That's livin. No side is better then the other. Completely 2 awesome seasons and awesome surfing experiences. 😎
I enjoy you surfing & naming specific spots. We've read about 'Queens', 'China Walls' etc but appreciate you giving an intro, surfing the spot, giving some feedback. These are not like secret spots and we won't be crowding it out anytime soon.
Show some merch bruhduh please and also keep up witda heavy barrols. I wanna surf dea in Hawaii soon . And tell Jamie, Jon jon, Nate, Kelly that I'm inspired🤪
I was lucky enough to SCORE the bowl back in 2007 5-6 feet, first trip to Hawaii. It reminds me of my local surf break here in Australia south straddie but over reef nice drops and the view from inside the barrel is unreal. Keep up the all the awesome content yew
I've never been on a surf board. Water ski is the closest thang for me. I started watching big wave surfing for some reason, it relaxes me. I only subscribed to one channel which is Nathan's. So you are my second . Thanks for sharing all of your experiences perhaps one day I can fly from Maryland and jump on a surf somewhere, no? 😆
I know that fence. Sweet. I went to Hawaii twenty years ago and stayed at the Outrigger hotel, approximately the same floor you are on, 5-6th, which is the best view of AloMo Bowls on the other side of the building you started this vid at. Such an amazing hotel, I'm loving this vid so far..
And what a lovely country home you lucky guy live in! I've been there couple of year ago with my friends, tried to surf theNorthshore , but it was too big for me...
I went bodysurfing at panics for 5 days of the swell like 7-8 hours a day. I was truly epic. I heard you and some of the other pros went at like 10 at night with lights on your trucks but it mellowed out a lot at night
Koa that was a epic session you looked a bit roasted from the sun, but well worth the burn, nice vlog cool vibes. 🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️

I saw Makua surfing queens the other day with his daughter, I’m assuming, on the nose. It was head high, too. They were charging it, classic.
Great fun! Spectacular hotel, and really well done. Congratulations, thank you.
One of the best episodes released, although they all nice🔥

These waves looked super fun. A lot of the north shore waves looked terrifying but these looked fun af.
A young great ambassador for our state
Would love to see some exploring. It’s been a min since I’ve been there.
Reminds me of the early 70's when we surfed there alot. Not as many people as today. The shot of the clouds over Makiki typical afternoon showers.
Doesn't get much better "This Is Livin" ...what everyone feels when you post a new vlog!
2:07
Koa: ...when you wanna surf uncrowded...
