I made a mistake! Thanks for letting me know and commenting so people can not think I did this on purpose! I must have been focused on spending it right away anyway.
After you rotated your machine at about the 20:10 mark, why did you place your medium gear in the '1' section. You placed your small gear in the '3' section. I thought at all gears were added to the '3' section ? Thanks
I just got this game the other day and started to play. One thing I dont get is why the Maintenance is first and 3rd. I am finding if I can't do the maintenance action on the 3rd part of a turn, why makes the game think i'll have enough to make a machine work or advance a worker, machine or one time machine? Basically just doing the 2nd action and 3rd actions of a turn, rarely doing maintenance first.
I had the same thoughts when I originally started to play the game. I seem to remember some instances where it made sense after repeated plays, but I can’t remember them right now. It is a great game and I’m glad to see you giving it a try.
@@JohnLaRuffa Just got through a game this morning and now I understand why maintenance is first then main action. Getting water (boiling) from copying the Ai then using that heated water at the start of your turn to move your cards so you can play them again on your Main Action phase of your turn. All makes sense :)
@@MyKonaRC very glad that you had this epiphany! It is such a uniquely tactical puzzle in order to try to squeeze as many points as possible out of each game.
I have both. It think they are so different in terms of gameplay that there is little to compare them. I would say Corrosion is more tactical in that you setup small situations to get you point payoffs several times during the game. In Praga, it’s more of a classic Euro feel where the whole game builds and you are rewarded for focusing in one or two areas.
Thanks for the playthrough as this provides a good feel for gameplay. Components look good (no matter there could be some improvements) but feel this game is not for me. By the way. Read furnace is suppose to release an expansion in 2022 to include a solo component.
@@JohnLaRuffa so this game was really cheap and figure give it a try. Boy I couldn't be anymore wrong in my statement. This is a great solo game. Really make you think as in what you want to do. So far after 3 plays I was able to get 74 points. Truthfully, even though this is a points game (which I normally not fond of) I really enjoy figuring out how I create those machines. Can also see this in my collection for sometime as well. Thanks for putting a positive light on this game.... Now to my next game.
@@bankingonmoney8224 glad to see that you liked it. I also find that I like coming back to it for repeat plays. It’s just a fun, thinky puzzle that is easy to solo but tough to master.
Sisters of Mercy "This Corrosion" seeps into my head when this game is mentioned!
Super helpful review, thank you! I will be checking out more of your content for sure.
Thank you very much. By now, I have lots to check out. Enjoy!
Great playthrough. It's always had an interesting look, but there's solid gameplay here too.
It’s a keeper. There is a lot of unique choices to be had here.
Thx for this solo playthrough. I have a question: Why do you put the medium gear at 22:23 in sector 1 instead of sector 3?

I am glad that it only was a mistake, of course such things happen with so many rules. I just was afraid, I missed something in the rules 😁

It was just a mistake. All incoming gears should be placed in 3.
@@JohnLaRuffa Ok just trying to learn the game and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a rule. Thanks for doing the video
You are quite welcome!

If you played Praga, how would you compare Praga to Corrosion for beat your own score for solo play?

Sorry for saying mispronouncing corrosion in the title. I’m an idiot…

That’s why I do the videos! I would love an expansion for Furnace. It is pretty light and will get samey fast without an expansion.
