I find it hard to believe that a new motorcycle and all these pivot points have never been lubricated!!! How many of us have purchased something new and just assume that all this has been done and the points are protected???? Have done this on several bikes, but none have been new, and I just thought that the lubricant has just dried up!!! Now I know why. Love your method of balncing. Great video for sure!!! Be well, be save, be Blessed!
Thanks Jim! I was actually quite surprised at how dry the suspension was. I think they call that "planned obselence." Running it for a few years without grease will surely cause some needed maintainance. And just like you, most of us would just assume the grease worked it's way out over time. Little do we know that they are setting it up for failure at the manufacturer. Everything just feels buttery smooth after you do this also.
I can’t believe you got a 2023 xr150l . I just bought one too has 166 miles ! I need to do this also , I’m excited I’ll have some upcoming follow alongs from you .! Thanks I’d also like to add my chain was very tight and I asked when buying can y’all adjust it a little ? They said oh we put them that tight on purpose because it will stretch in first ride or 2 . Well at 166miles it’s still close to the same so I’m going to do all the things you done here so it’s better protected ! Thank you again for torque specs also
Thats awesome man! It's an awesome bike. It's pretty hard to beat a Honda. I've noticed the carburator needs a little adjustment. It seems finicky sometimes when it's cold. I plan to keep a good log on what I do so it should help others. Some have said a rejet is necessary, but tuning a carburator is elevation specific, so I will report back at how my elevation relates to whatever tuning I'm doing.
@chadriddle3517 I bet your right! I should have added that the top should be greased also, but because it's so high up, it's pretty protected from the elements, so I will do that around November when I do the valves, the steering stem and a bunch of other things. I might even do an exhaust, I'm not sure yet.
Sounds awesome I’m excited to see what you come up with! From your xr100 videos I know what you say and do works!! I’m actually doing my chain and shock bolt now.
Also yes I’m in middle Tennessee so it’s warm here so lately when I been riding like today the carb seems ok. But yes when it was just remotely cold the carb would spitter/sputter I ordered an assortment of jets but have yet to experiment I do believe there is some power left on the table ! Also I run mine with no baffle and it sounds great to me ! Idk if more power but the sound makes it feel so lol .

Good stuff, Brandon! Always good to learn how to take care of your stuff, even when new!
Thanks man!
Thanks
You bet!
