    i can relate Chris,i bought a A3000 off a guy that had been in a apartment fire,it was doused with water and foam and sat like that in a shed for 5 years after. Don't know why i do these things,but i guess i felt sorry for the poor A3000.The psu was solid rust,the motherboard was black with soot and water damage. I removed all the chips and dish washered the board after scrubbing it. I restored the old girl back to almost new,hand scrubbing the soot and corrosion off the chips and changing some sockets, turned out to be a super reliable A3000 i kept for a long time. Time consuming to repair these!

    I've seen some rust converter sprays on the shelf in stores and wondered how they'd do on something like this to help prevent further rusting. Have you ever tried one of these sprays?

      You know it’s a different processor with a different code language and this was the 1980s to 1990s I think they did a good job for the time

    • @a4000t
      @a4000t 2 года назад +1

      @Darko Deacon That's silly. the whole point of Amiga was to be different and not just another boring x86 clone. the 500,600,1200 were cut down neutered machines that couldn't even take a gfx card or anything back in the day-stuck with slow 2

    • @a4000t
      @a4000t 2 года назад

      @Darko Deacon so the question is why do you even have or use Amiga if you don't appreciate them for what they are or want to use them? You could just use your Acorn s3000? Amiga coders are in way less supply than say windows coders,these comparisons don't make sense. Most software for Amiga is made by individuals or tiny teams,not giant teams like Windows etc.Use the machine for what it was good for,dont expect a 40 year old machine to work like a modern day one. Everything runs its course.
