  • This was an Iodine Clock Reaction performed with materials that can be found at a local pharmacy. Reaction kinetics and mechanisms behind the "magic" experiment are explored in the video. The procedure is as follows:
    1. 128 mL of warm distilled water into container A.
    2. Crushed 500 mg Vitamin C tablet into container A.
    3. 12 mL of 10% povidone-iodine into container A.
    4. Thoroughly mix container A solution.
    5. 40 mL of boiling water into container B.
    6. 200 mg of cornstarch into container B.
    7. 100 mL of 3% hydrogen peroxide into container B.
    8. Thoroughly mix container B solution.
    9. Mix A and B solutions into another container and wait for color change.
