As someone who happened upon this song randomly (cute bird compilation video on Facebook, used as an outro) , and has zero knowledge of what this song is supposed to be associated to, Just going by the lyrics, it seems to me the "Blue" is the "comfort zone", describing so many of us who lock ourselves away, "safe between the clouds", "Hiding" from the world, Not taking risks or enjoying life, Watching life go by, remembering our more natural, energetic, expressive and creative selves from years past.
