I just wish you never stop running even in your 80s and 90s Kofuzi. I will always watch your channel. I cannot think of ANYONE creating better quality material than yourself related to sports wear.
Your review is exactly what I felt with this shoe! I feel like it's a training shoe because I just had to keep my mind focused on what my leg had to do. I guess it also helps with the mental endurance. haha. I felt the scare at 11:54. When I switched back to the adizero pros, I felt wonderful. Like goku without his weighted clothes.
Running shoes and reviews fascinate me---even if I am not going to get that particular shoe. As always, thanks Ko. Oh, Kipchoge dominates again! Woohoo! I'm old enough to remember Abebe Bikila win the 1960 Rome marathon in bare feet!!! Okay, I remembered later in reruns, I was only 4. The shoe companies nightmare. Shoes? Who needs shoes? Haha!
I bought a PrimeX, and I experienced exactly all that Kofuzi told in his commentaries. Frequently I hear people complaining about certain shoes being unstable, but I never had any problem with stability with any shoe. But with this one, for the first time I experienced this lack of stability and was really afraid of twisting my ankle. So, I agree with everything that Kifusi said, but I would add that this is a shoe for those who are forefoot or mid foot strikers. If you are a heel striker, please, don’t even try this one.
Thanks for the review...you are awesome dude! I was going to buy the Nike Alphafly Next% this weekend but just saw this video review and I am now going to buy the Adidas Prime X!!!
I’ll be honest, I’ve not tuned in a lot lately, just swamped with life and my own training, but I have to say… Dang Mike! You’re looking jacked as ever! Holy cow!
the golden stuff at the forefoot are "carbon infused stiffening blades" there is a layer of lightstrike between the energy rods and the golden things that they are calling stiffening blades and there is exactly 3 blades just like the cutouts are showing.
Shoes nowadays are like cellphones, it’s a fast paced model change… wouldn’t be surprised if in the future there’s a battery to help propel your run. Great review as always.
Thanks for this review. I am a big fan of the Adios Pro (original and Pro 2.0) and was considering the Prime X. However I am currently recovering from an ankle sprain with partial ligament tear and your comment about the performance of the shoe during turns is making me think twice. Maybe I’ll stick to the Adios Pro!
I know this comment was from 2 yrs ago and I'm also have partial ligament tear not recovering fully for more than a year now. I'm looking for shoe that enable me to still run while not feeling too much pain. Wanting to try light strike pro shoes but this shoe seems dangerous... Might injure the ankle some more 😅. Looking at Kofuzi taking the corners...
Having recently starting in zero drop/minimalist/barefoot shoes, even looking at those shoes start hurting my knees and everything. Maybe fun for a test run, but definitely not for daily use.
Precisely. After switching to minimalist shoes, I'll never go back. No more shin splints, blisters, back problems, ankle problems, knee problems. Now: stronger calf muscles, feet muscles etc.
I think running barefoot will promote better running form, however if you can maintain good running form in a cushioned shoe then it’s a win win situation.
Yeeyuh -reppin dat RABBIT biz!! Best shoe footage as always!! Just picked up my first pair of 361 trail runners -would love to see you film some of their stuff :)
I have these shoes and just for some context i'm 6'2 240 and i'm primarily running 5-7 miles on average and 2 miles all out for time. My experience is that they are some of the best running shoes i've ever worn for running on roads and staright line distances. They make you want to run on the balls of your feet and you can absolutely fly down a straight away in them just because they seem to improve economy of motion. However, I would not use them for anything else, no tracks or anything that involves several turns. They can feel a bit unstable.
Hey Man, you have explained it very well. I've been watching your videos from before and good job. You had me like "Shoot I am not subscribed to Kofuzi yet". Great content man, keep it up.
It’s crazy seeing running shoes with so much cushion after switching to barefoot shoes for almost a year, feels like I’m wearing high heels when I try to go back but at least I’m more balanced and my running form has improved
Insane. While I do think shoes like the Next% and all its competitors are probably here to stay and evolve in future iterations, I expect monsters like this one to come and go.
Great Review. Crazy shoe. But with your slow mo it is showing that your ankle is caving inwards more than your normal amount. I think this shoe for a lot of people it might cause ankle and knee problems. Due to the height of the midsole. Thank you
Okay, I don't *need* a shoes like this but the sheer craziness of it and what kofuzi and someone like eddbud have to say about it means I definitely *want*. Haha. I'm no racer at this point in my life but I do still run around 80 miles per week rotating various flavors of running shoes and the sheer craziness of the Prime X has got me very interested. I divide my nearly dozen road-running shoes into three categories: all-out speed, daily trainer, and recovery/easy. Based on what I've been seeing and reading about the Prime X, it seems to have about one-third of each, which, when I think about it, can't be said for any shoes I've tried or even read about. I don't worry about the stack height and stability. I have barely legal supershoes and they have never been a problem for me although I do take care around curves and turns. I've been looking into the Prime X and the other "illegal" shoes NB SC Trainer and I'm definitely inclined to go with the Adidas even if it's about $100 more. Won't get it right away as my budget is stretched a little thin at the moment but this is definitely on my radar.
Another clear and concise review that I always appreciate brother! May I ask, might be slightly pathetic of a question but I’m usually in dry environments, how do you maintain running in the rain and keeping your shoes in solid shape? I tried to wash/dry an older pair years ago but I think the heater shrunk them which was weird. I know there is the whole washing the insoles but just letting the shoe itself dry thing, any suggestions? I see you’re well-versed in taking all kinds of shoes on wet terrain so would love your thoughts. Thanks as always for the awesome quality editing and knowledge bombs bro!!🤙🤙
Using any kind of active heating, like a dryer, will shrink the upper of your shoes, so if you want to avoid that, stuff your shoes with newspaper or get two pairs and rotate through when one pair gets wet
@@charliehelfand969 Active heating is definitely a no-go, but something that just blows cool air into the shoes works wonders. I placed my wet shoes on the exhaust of a dehumidifier and the cool, dry air dries drenched (with sweat and/or water) shoes within a few hours. I figured this out last summer when I was running in sub-tropical heat and humidity in the Brooks Ghost 12's which are horrendously hot and absorbent. I was needing to store the shoes in a sealed container or outside because they started smelling ridiculously disgusting, but drying them on the dehumidifier in a few hours meant that the bacteria didn't have time to fester and they didn't smell nearly as bad. Newspaper definitely does the trick of drying the shoes faster than just leaving them out to air dry, but it isn't quite quick enough to prevent odor buildup in my experience, unfortunately.
You will never train away your "slight" Pronation with shoes which have toe-spring. Ever tried Joe Nimble Addict? No-Toespring and as much Front-Rocker as it is reasonable.
It will take a lot for me to try Adidas again. I bought one of their training shoes 3 years ago, and it went to pieces in just a few months. It left a strong impression on me. I replaced it with a Nike Free and used that pair as a newbie in running, cycling, and used it when I started crossfit. 3 years later, it's surely no longer pretty but still usable and I sometimes still do. I have since bought only Nikes: the Romaleos for weightlifting, Metcons 5 and 6 for Crossfit, a Pegasus 36 for trail running, and a newer Nike Free 4 for road running. So questions for those who have put 300+ miles on these shoes. Have Adidas improved in the durability department? I want to give this a try but my bad experience clings.
it seems like you've found what works for you. the prime x isn't a shoe i'd recommend for your use cases, regardless of what the longevity of this shoe may be.
Glad you do. I just teach people how to prevent injury as a physio and heel striking only adds load through the body hence cause injury. With the right technique you will run further and faster than you can imagine. 😊Stay blessed

Great work, mate!
Looking forward to your review of the Adios Pro 2. Didn't get a chance to run in the first version but so far I've done 2 runs in v2 and they are absolutely bonkers! You can't run slow in them 😅 They are a bit more unstable than the Carbon X2 but not a big issue.
I got a pair of the Prime X and it feels really good when running uphill. I was quite surprised at the pace I was able to maintain going up hill. Running downhill had me a little nervous but I feel like when I land on the fore foot I'm never worried about the stability of the shoe. I feel like I'm actually more conscious of my running form when running in this shoe. It just feels like you can't have sloppy form.
Going to make a weird comparison here...the adidas Iniki (i-5932). OK, these shoes are in many ways 180 degrees apart in terms of materials/technologies used, future focus vs retro, style vs performance emphasis etc...but where they seem to be close is the very sloppy upper. In the Iniki, it's meant to aid the lazy, casual comfort of a shoe that is meant for all day walks with some retro style...but try running in it, even a moderate jog, your foot stars to swim in a structureless upper that appears to have a midsole hanging off it.
Believe me or not I'm a 92kg guy which ran 10km the last 3 years...but now I have so much neck pain that Im not even able to run 500m. My last hope is to buy a different shoe
Great review! I am a heavier individual who has found Hoka's Bondi line to be a bit of a god send when it comes to running. Might you be able to describe how the cushioning on these shoes compare?? Thank you kindly!
This reply is probably 6 months too late: have you tried the new balance more V3 ? Both are heavy shoes but I find More V3 requires less effort. The top of V3 is not as breathable as I would like, still I prefer the N.B. over my Navy colored Bondi 7 .
Mike looking absolutely torqued in this one, them biceps be on Prime X! Thank you for the video, really nice one. i was waiting for this one. i wanted to ask you if the prime x could be a daily fast trainer for the adios pro 2 that i think it is a great shoes, but unfortunately the boston 10 it doesn't work for me, it is just too heavy. About the prime x, do you feel the weight when you are tired?
Hey kofuzi i saw the schematics at launch and there seems to be a second layer plate apart from the carbon rods, maybe that is the yellowish surface visible from the holes. You should check out the diagram as well !
Hey Big fan of your channel, I am a daily runner from India. I have recently purchased these shoes, but soon after my first run the paint from energy rods came out (maybe as it came in contact with stones). Is it normal? will it impact the durability? did it happen to you as well? Thanks so much in advance!!
Oh man! I just got a pair of Nike alpha flys and kofuzi brings out the new adidas Frankenstein super shoe! Lol! I like them tho! Im happy with the alphas flys but very curious about the new adidas prime x and how they compare to nikes alpha flys. So kofuzi the real question ….so far what feels better for you? adidas prime x or Nike alpha flys?
This shoe looks like an ankle roll waiting to happen :( I wonder what Adidas was thinking behind this shoe.. I wonder what I’d do if the minuscule threads holding the front laces break… considering it doesn’t take cornering very well, it feels like they will be under some tension/pressure as your foot rolls/pivots on fast turns…
I just bought a pair. I will only use them for the thredmill i think. I could not handle the wobbliness. Small bumps in the road made me almost to fall. Maybe I could sell them to Gene Simmons in Kiss he like plateau shoes.
Apparently someone has not "realized" that 50mm is not according to rules... See Vienna Marathon 2021. My guess is that the "winner" used the Prime X or some form of it, to then become disqualified.
I just wish you never stop running even in your 80s and 90s Kofuzi. I will always watch your channel. I cannot think of ANYONE creating better quality material than yourself related to sports wear.

so true!! :D
True. But if they can’t be used for racing they are just training shoes, while the Alphafly are good for everything
How far can they take it? Visibly these actually look about the same or even slightly less stack height than the Alphafly’s which is interesting.

I’m glad the Nike finally covered up the air pods on the Alphafly
Ouch that looks insanely scary for the ankles!
That 50mm stack height is frightening, but at least it has speed holes
👍Great review.
Just ordered. I seem to like high stack and cushion, the more the better.
Looking to use this shoe on long runs
I hope you enjoy!
What an intro... I loved it!!! Great video!!!
Thanks for watching!
Hey kofuzi i saw the schematics at launch and there seems to be a second layer plate apart from the carbon rods, maybe that is the yellowish surface visible from the holes. You should check out the diagram as well !
The cutouts in the sole are to collect as many pebbles as you can while you run.
It’s a stability feature, then
Hey
Big fan of your channel, I am a daily runner from India. I have recently purchased these shoes, but soon after my first run the paint from energy rods came out (maybe as it came in contact with stones). Is it normal? will it impact the durability? did it happen to you as well?
Thanks so much in advance!!
That heel counter problem sounds exactly the same I had with endorphin pro.
me too
great review
Crazy shoe haha. I personally want to actually feel the ground somewhat when I run, so would never buy this xD but great review :)
thanks for watching!
Good $100 Running shoe can't wait
I couldn’t run this distance in twice the time. Sick to see some people do these numbers regularly.
The Prime X has Blades in addition to the Rods. That's is visible in golden/orange.
This shoe looks like an ankle roll waiting to happen :(
I wonder what Adidas was thinking behind this shoe..
11:58 bloody hell that's scaryyy! My weak ankle is screaming just by looking at it.
They looking cool 🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏾♂️
They are quite the sight
Loved the dramatic music 🎶
#unnecessarilyEpic always
It looks like running shoes price will be attacking entry level bikes quite soon.
Unfortunately, I think it’s going to be a while before prices calm down
Ok we need a 100miles review on these platform shoe
The description of your fear of stepping directly on the cellar mesh made me laugh so hard. I never expected you to review this shoe.
Honestly, I thought I was going to love this and be tempted to race in them. The instability was a surprise
Looks like a great shoe if you are a rock collector.
Great review . What shoe would you recommend for someone in the 260 pound range for everyday road use ?
Check out Hokas
Loubutin considering to enter running shoe design...
Pretty fun to hear the excitement in your voice on this one
11:53 pure terror!!!!! it happens to me with the zoom fly 1...
I can actually see the squish when you land your feet. cool. it is too narrow for my liking. I need a wider base, so I don't roll my angles.
Apparently someone has not "realized" that 50mm is not according to rules...
See Vienna Marathon 2021. My guess is that the "winner" used the Prime X or some form of it, to then become disqualified.
certainly some miscalculations going on there
Nice white watch, it is Garmin Fenix Solar ?
