      @@gwendolynsnyder463 I like to believe that in 2186, a good 164 years after the origination of the "ok, boomer" meme... all boomers are dead by then... yet, the "ok boomer" meme finds itself resurrected for a very important cause... Javik the Prothean was reawakened and half the shit that comes out of his mouth just makes you want to go "ok, boomer". And thus the meme resurged, because much like protheans and Commander Shepard, legends never die.

    The "Without all that 'affection' all I have in my life is death. And that's not enough" line always hits me during this conversation. It reminds me why I love ME3 so much despite its problematic ending. It really showcases Shepard's emotional side the most out of all three games, especially the importance of her loved ones. Don't get me wrong, the other games also showed how much she cared about her crew/friend but ME3 just really nails it on the head. She NEEDS these people more than they need her, honestly

      I think so too. My Shep is always carrying the fate of the galaxy on the back. Its only the friends and loved ones that are keeping Shep going. Otherwise our protagonist would definetly break

    I admire the last part of that scene. "If you can live by it." It shows off that while Shepard was right in her thinking about "letting old ghosts rest", she knows that line of thinking has flaws.

      Yeah, that's the big difference between Javik's cycle and ours. The Protheans ran on pride, and the superiority of their race over others. But their world view was based on a flawed idea of evolution: That the strong are always meant to dominate the weak (breaking news, that isn't how evolution works). Suddenly the Reapers were the strongest in the galaxy, and the Protheans were evidentially worse by their own logic. It's no wonder they ended up failing. Their client races probably hated them enough to not work with them and choose to fall for the reapers instead.

    • @mahmoud6843
      @mahmoud6843 3 года назад +28

      It is flawed but Javik’s memories are much worse. Unlike Shepard he witnessed his own team getting indoctrinated. And considering he had to end their lives he would feel guilty if he saw those memories again

      It's a graphical bug that only shows up in that game area -- possibly due to the "Alpha layer" of Shepard's hair & how it reacts to the specific lighting system in that section of the Normandy.
      The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Vanilla orig. release) had a similar issue -- your character's hair would become translucent during dust storms, heavy fog, Blight storms or underwater sequences (if I remember correctly). Easy solution was to slap on a helmet....
