I was wounded in Vietnam in 1969 and sent home. I married one of the nurses that took care of me. We have been together for 50 years and still going strong. This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I second the comments about your parents.
It was FOREVER, for me, in 1980, a nanosecond after our eyes met for the first time. We had a few months together, but, unfortunately, her parents didn't approve and we didn't see each other for 30 years. Then in 2010, thirty years, almost exactly to the day since we parted, we reconnected, and I knew instantly that FOREVER was real. Nothing about the part of my heart that she then owned, and still owns, has changed even a tiny bit. But we were both married to others at the time, so there was no "Maybe This Time" kind of reunion. Maybe in the next life......
Mr. Murphy, I grew up listening to your music and have always wanted a chance to meet you since I was a 5 year old a little boy. I'm 44 now, and still a huge fan of your music. It's nothing like the commercialized junk you hear on the radio that all has the same beat and similar words and aren't in any way original or creative. Your music has substance because it obviously comes from the heart as music should. Thank you for continually putting out great music, sir. Sincerely, a life-long fan.
I saw your concert in Scottsdale AZ in 1993. I'm from South Dakota and if you ever want to do a concert up this way, you have plenty of fans that would love to hear you!❤
You have me in tears once again. Since 1975. So Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your gift. The most beautiful songs and voice. God Bless You.❤️
You still have it, Murph, even better now. God love the you and the music of the early 70s. Save for Vietnam, what a wonderful time to be young and a college student on a shangri-law campus full of beautiful girls, flannel shirts, keg parties and woodsies ... edit and bonfire to go along with the kegs, 8-track tape players, and Wildfire too.
I have always loved your music and talents..Thank you for sharing what am I doin hangin round with Michael Nesmith and the Monkees it was one of their best songs. This dedication to your parents was lovely....your mom was a very beautiful woman and dad Im sure caught a lot of looks from the ladies ...very handsome.

Why did you leave this verse out when you recorded it? . . . I've been listenin' to people And they say love is the key And it's not my way to let them lead me astray It's only that I want to believe
