Simple: People were not ready for the truth
It pretty much the same this days. Human nature dont change that fast.
Pride and ego. everyone has such fragile ego that even if they know deep down they are wrong they will still stand by the wrong belief / opinion due to pride and ego.
@The1Americanpride1 you're the type who'd reject this doctor, bootlicker

Yeah, telling a group of folks who think reeally highly of themselves and have a lot of resources that they’re doing something wrong and they should take responsibility for it is typically a surefire way to throw your career and wellbeing into a pile of flaming excrement. It’s pretty much every change-maker. Socrates was seen as annoying and sentenced to death, Jesus was seen as crazy by his own family and he was tortured to death. Confucius was idolized after death, but exiled and forced into penniless wandering when he was alive. People who are ahead of their time in any serious way that changes culture or medicine or business have almost always had miserable lives, been murdered or exiled by the majority whose paychecks relied on the status-quo. Even being against slavery and child labor could be a death sentence just a century ago. The history of war, slavery, and racism makes it very obvious that people can accept insane things to be ‘obviously ok,’ while advanced sensitive people are seen as kooks unfit for their environment. Of course there are weirdos and kooks who claim to be misunderstood visionaries, but it’s also true that visionaries get lumped in with with kooks in the hopes that visionaries don’t rock the boat for power-seekers
now he is telling poeple not to wash
@@Sprite_525 To reiterate and focus on a point; part of being a change-maker is, well, to actually _try_ to make change in the world. Just knowing something privately isn't enough to do it.
And on the last part of your comment about "weirdos and kooks..." If a million people tomorrow suddenly got cured of cancer without a trace of it and without use of medications, do you actually think the medication companies would be *happy* about that? They better be for their own sake to be in a world without greed, but I'm not convinced that everyone would be.
That said, my Mom had Melanoma on her arm which shrunk. Sure, there was some medication, but the doctor himself said it shrunk (though I didn't say why to him.) I gave her pineapple, papaya, and (most importantly) raw apricot kernels both of the "sweet" and "bitter" types. Don't ask me how exactly, but something here worked. I ate the bitter kind too, even up to 30 at once (though I don't recommend that many at once, without a use for them.) If they were as "lethal" as implied, I'd be dead. But no, they just gave me brain fog at worst. Eat Apples and Horseradish or Garlic or Onion to start getting rid of that, then.
You might wanna see "World Without Cancer" by G Edward Griffin, *1974.* This goes back a ways, and we're collectively not outside the woods.

Ego is such a massive problem of mankind.
this is a famous and tragic story. The danger of professional arrogance.
This man realized that the rate of infection in women who just gave birth was higher in the clinic where autopsies were also performed. He also realized that if one disinfects there hands after autopsy and before touching patients there is a much lower chance that infection occurs.

I was born in a hospital called Ignaz Semmelweis (Hungary) he is famous in our country.
This is why all forms of goverment and major decision makers should have term limits. Old ideas hold back the progression of society. This is proof
they should also have age limits
How many kids were left without mothers? Outrageous. Sad the way he died. He knew people were dying and couldn't do anything about it. Father of all Heroes.
He could have started his own hostpital
If people didn’t give him a job, he probably couldn’t get a land will for a hospital
Where would the capital come from?
"He could have started his own hostpital" ....no
There's an assumption in that statement that the other doctors/ medical community would allow it. They might even try to stop it. It would also not stop the fact of him being lured/ arrested & falsely put into a mental hospital like what actually happened...
Smart next I’ll make my own country
@@Joe-- he had the money to build one
Someone needs to make a movie about this man.
Exactly what I was thinking, the ending would be so sad and messed up.
Note the problem of how these cases are retold is that it gives the impression that “rejected” wild theories are often correct when in fact for every story like this there are many many many more about rightfully rejected cases you’ll never hear about. The key here isn’t just that these guys were “right”, but also that they had observations to back them up, even if that takes a long while to recognize. And as is often the case, as in this video, they didn’t have enough facts to fully make their point stick at the time. That was the main hang up.
Yea like the Wuhan Lab Leak..
The fact that it wasn't enough for them that the death rate went down when handwashing was adopted in order to to take it seriously and look into it further is criminal. They appealed to their beliefs about how reality worked when they ganged up on the guy. They didn't care about his observations and hypothesis testing, the universe just doesn't work that way, and we know cause we're the prestigious scientists. Absolute blind arrogance, don't pretend like it was some kind of wise, reserved skepticism.
Sadly, I feel like I've been in that situation at least once before. I went on a long, concerned and passionate dissertation with mind of a book I had read on the subject that explained a bunch of things, but when pressed I somehow forgot other studies that I had found on the same subject. Despite later linking to studies that proved my point, *the time to act was when I was fresh in the door.* Who's going to listen when it's hours later, after you said you had no evidence while you were believing that you didn't, just because you forgot your own work? Ugh.
The first reply to a YT comment with many upvotes is valuable real estate when you're on any subject you actually know about that actually *has merit.*
The american public is having one of the biggest semmelweis reflexes of all time

It wouldn't have mattered with me. I was in labor 19 hours under a 70 yr old dr.with Parkinson's disease. He wanted to take a nap before doing anything with me, even tho my son was in fetal distress. My husband grabbed him up, held him against the wall and said if I or the baby didnt leave the hospital alive, he wouldn't be either. I got an emergency c-section immediately. They had to resuscitate our blue son. Without my hero husband as my advocate, and a well equipped surgical hospital, I and our son would not be here. Back then, anytime before the late-twentieth century, it just would have been impossible for many of us to survive.😷
Your husband is amazing for doing that
@@luthermorrisjr1657 yes I miss him terribly. He was an amazing man...I'm grateful for the time we had him.🌻 The time we are here no matter how short, can still allow us to make a huge impact on the lives of others.
Sad thing is this is still true in the US today. It's much safer to give birth at home than it is to go to a hospital to give birth, especially as a black woman. Maternal mortality and morbidity in the country has increased 200% in the past 2 decades.
It's not because of poor sanitation though, the increased rates of diabetes and hypertension, coupled with unnecessary C-section delivery, and poor prenatal care due how expensive hospitals and doctor visits are are the reasons for the increase (plus the fact that there is an income disparity among people of color, who are even less likely to afford regular visits to the doctor). Giving birth at home isn't the solution: universal health care is. If it wasn't so expensive to go to the doctor in the first place, these women can get treated earlier and have a safer pregnancy, and have their child monitored early on. The US should really catch up. Most of the developed countries have universal health care and it's saving lives. My mother for example gave birth in Germany and she had to go to the doctor every two to three weeks until she gave birth. They discovered early on that my baby sister had a small tumor and were able to remove it after birth. Both survived and it was an uncomplicated birth. And my parents didn't have to shell out a cent!
Poor lad.
