What I love about this is how Xzibit is an integral part of the video. Unlike other bands who have guest artists, they're either not shown or is shown for their singing, and that's it.

They are a Dutch symphonic metal band that started the same time as Nightwish 1996. They are considered one of the pioneers of female fronted symphonic metal bands. The lead vocalist is Sharon den Adel who founded the band together with her partner Robert Westerholt. She applied, and was admitted, to the conservatory for opera training but did not like it so she changed over to the arts-academy within her first semester. There she studied clothing design and management and completed it successfully. She has mainly used these skills in designing outfits used on stage. They have had a rather successful run in clubs for couple of years where their performances were constantly sold out. Because of that they got invited to the biggest festival in the Netherlands "Pink Pop". Even though they had a very early start the concert was a huge success. They released their single "Ice Queen"shortly after expecting it to be very successful but it did not do much until somewhere in December that year a dj played it on the radio. Suddenly the song shot up in the charts and even took the number 1 spot. Now other countries started to pay attention.
There is just a specific tone in her voice that just clicks with me. You have only seen her once and you have no way of knowing this but Sharon is at her best live. The best concerts of the band are 2 shows they did being supported by a full symphonic orchestra and choir. The most famous one is with Metropole Orchestra in Rotterdam called the Black symphony. As a nearly 64 year old heavy metal/hard rock enthusiast since I was 8 years old....I didn't even know Within Temptation and Nightwish even existed until April 2020! My first thought was, how I haven't heard of these two bands until now???
Within Temptation sought out Xzibit and he helped in the writing of the song! Not being into rap...I have heard a few of Xzibit's songs...and I liked them! This song is very powerful...and very well done!

Sharon has *the* most angelic voice in existence.
I put Floor above her in terms of range and power (possibly even skill) but when it comes to that angelic, pure, flute like sound that makes your soul cry happy tears, no one is even in the vicinity of Sharon den Adel.

Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band. You have to know the genre to have known of them, but they are incredible. They released a live album a few years back called Black Symphony, which really highlights their anthology. Listen to The Howling or Jillian by them.
Listen to more Within Temptation especially Frozen! That song and video is awesome and the deeper meaning will haunt you!
I have to agree. The weird thing about Sharon is that she can look like a completely different person from one video to the next. In some parts of Frozen I always thought she looked like Natalie Portman!

Yes bro, Within Temptetion is very good, if you want to hear more of their songs I recommend: Angels, What about Us(feat.Tarja Turunen original Nightwish lead vocalist), and Shot in the Dark. Oldie but goodie.
Also check Epica lead singer Simone Simmons, Nightwish with Floor, and Amaranth with Elize Ryd(Super hot Swedish girl). Of course Arch Enemy with Alissa White-Gluz. She is hot as he'll also. They all are. And their voices are beautiful.

I don't know if they ever released this song outside of Europe. I was so surprised when I heard X to da Z was gonna do a song with Within Temptation from my tiny ass country. We've got some killer female singers here though. Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation, Floor Jansen from Nightwish, Simone Simons from Epica, Anneke van Giersbergen from The Gathering... I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Always a treat watching somebody get into WT for the first time. One of the best metal groups around, 25 years in the game and bringing it on every track. Xibit's vocals just drive it all the harder and make an awesome counterpoint to Sharon's angel voice.

First heard about them about 13 years ago when wife's friend gave her a copy of a CD she'd been listening to. Wife's not into rock and heavy metal but I am. They'd already been around 10 years or so by the time I'd heard of them. WT are easily in my top 5 bands.

Body Count has been around for a while. They got their start in the early 90s, but they haven't been active the whole time. They have been more prolific in the last few years, releasing 3 albums in the last 6 years.

They are a symphonic metal band like Within Temptation.They are from Finland but (since 2012) have a Dutch singer Floor Jansen, who will give you Floorgasms! :-)
My personal suggestion in order to give you a nice overview of some "styles" covered by Nightwish:
1. Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013): THE "traditional first song" to get into Nightwish. Floor is showing diferent capabilities and you can get a first understanding of Tuomas capability of songwriting
2. "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast
3. Then there are a couple of great songs from Wacken: Storytime, Song of Myself, Romanticide, Last Ride of the Day, Ghostriver plus "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look at the growls)
4. Then "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) and "The Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley - get to know the beckground of this song ahead)
5. Then the new stuff with "Noise" (Video) and "Harvest (Lyric Video) first.

Within Temptation has been one of my favorite bands since like 2004. Don't feel bad that you haven't heard of them. You sound American and they never really made it big here.
Honestly this whole album is fire, and I was REALLY skeptical about how well these two would mix, but this is definitely my favorite song.
I've never seen your channel so I don't really know what you like, but you should check out Delain as well if you decide you liked Within Temptation. We Are The Others is a great song to start with, IMO.

The reason why most people in the US haven't heard of Within Temptation is that US Rock stations are like US Country Music stations and they only play a small percentage of female fronted groups, like 15 to 20 percent of the music is from a female fronted group and you have acts from Europe like Nightwish, Within Temptation, In This Moment that a fucking HUGE over there that can't get the time of day in the US.

Its a bit of an oldie now, but you could checkout devil on my shoulder by Billy Talent. Or Shepherd of fire by avenged sevenfold.
Well, people won't believe this, but rap isn't faster paced than rock. This song proves it Run DMC walk this way proved it Tone loc funky cold madina with Eddie Van Halen playing on it proved it. Rap is music basically without music. I'm glad more collaborations are happening to show what rap can be. Basic rappers come from poor neighborhoods where they couldn't afford instruments or lessons. But really, this shows that with can be substantial genre. Just like metal is sy.phonic based rap is metal based minus instruments. The reality is they may be sung differently, but like other forms of music country included, it has a story. Rap mostly alcohol and drugs slurs racial and sexist. Cleaned up with a good story would be high on the charts.
