I'm hanging on for my life while the car sped up. I'm not seat belted, and the door is open. I'm glad he stopped the threat. Scary. Pray for the officers mental recovery.

@@WhimsicalDaisyshe should not have jumped in the car with the fleeing suspect. It doesn’t matter what he wanted to do. The guy didn’t want to get shot.
By getting in the car with him he gave himself no options to de-escalate. If he had stepped back and pursued from his car and called it in there’s a good chance that guy would be alive and in prison. This is probably among one of the most common factors when police kill someone. Police make poor tactical decisions and put themselves in situations where they only have deadly force as an option.

      Family's lawyer seeks justice
      -----------------------------------------------
Clayton told The Tennessean the family is seeking police reform after Allen's shooting.
Though Allen was in the vehicle during the traffic stop, Clayton said police should have never asked for his identification or asked him to step out of the vehicle as Lo did right before Allen drove away.
"It bothers me that he was an innocent passenger," Clayton said, calling the incident a violation of Allen's rights. "It appears that officers are not being trained to de-escalate."
With multiple police shootings in Nashville, Clayton is urging lawmakers to take action to eliminate qualified immunity so officers can be part of lawsuits and held to a higher standard.
"Legislatures need to know the citizens are demanding officers treat people with dignity and that it is not open season on a person in a car," Clayton said.

I would venture to say the suspect made a bad decision. Probably not the first in his life.

What an amazing fucken human being. I actually got emotional listening to his voice. He’s simple the pinnacle of what an officer should be. What a caring person and from the heart after knowing what he did that he had to do, he still was extreamly caring trying to help the person.
I feel so bad for this cop, I hope he copes and comes back on duty - never change. 🙏

And some people view it as weakness.. its despicable tbh. Probably why this man underestimated the police officer.

This officer did not want to do this, the suspect made him fear for his life, you can hear it in his voice

The cop genuinely felt bad for having to shoot the guy...I respect how quick he wanted to help him even though he was in the wrong. Serious serious respect, this guy's a genuinely good cop. Everything he did from the start was respectful and everything I ask for in a police officer. So crazy...

Unbelievable too because no matter how nice this cop was he still was put in a bad situation. Black lives will never matter when they act this way.
