Insta360 X3's invisible dive case is the first truly invisible dive case for consumers. Until now, you needed a dive case that costs GBP 4,000 (about US$5,109.14) to get a totally invisible underwater dive case. But now you can get a completely invisible dive case for the X3 for just $99!

I just ordered this with your link. Always appreciate the videos etc.... Jim
Thanks Jim! You rock!!!
My guess was nearly right - the new case seems to have more of a dome than the original one. I'll actually be heading to the Philippines for the first time in October and had been thinking of getting a dive case so this has come out at the right time for me.
It’s perfect for that! Coincidentally I’m headed to Philippines right now 😄
@@360vroomers Cool, have a great trip
@@360vroomersTake care & enjoy in the Philippines
Thanks Mic, all good 😊
Thanks Paul!
That is what you call true beauty.
It is insane) insta make anniversary unbelievable) congratulations who can dive and swim)
Yes! For divers and swimmers, this is the perfect camera.
Unbelievable how insta go to different action people) can't stop to be surprised by them)
Yes they have incredible innovative ability!
I’ve been asking about the quality of dive case images when used in NON water environments, since X3 released and never really got solid answers.
I saw there was a non-water setting for the Invisible Dive Case. Could you show some footage? I’d like to use it in area that could be easily hit by flying stones (think rally)
What kind of impact would it take
Best orientation to record if main focus is front/back (or should that even matter)
Is there a minimum distance subject should be away from lens
This case can be used above water because insta360 app and studio have stitching modes for it both above water and underwater. When I get a review unit, I’ll post a sample. Re impact, if is polycarbonate afaik so it should be pretty tough but can be scratched. Minimum distance should be about 5ft or possibly 3ft.
I just bought the case but there is stiiil a lot of sitiching...certainly doesnt look like any of these recent RUclips videos promoting the case ? Ive already filmed with the camera enabled for dive case and also mingled with the app and mytting the dive case stitcjing wich only makes it worst, what am I doing wrong?
There are four dive case settings. One is *invisible* dive case - *underwater*. Use that. If you don’t see that option then you need to update your insta360 studio and insta360 mobile app.
I just hope it doesn't leak. I just came back from 2 weeks diving in Bonaire, I brought my X3 but didn't take it underwater. A dive buddy brought his X2 and his Insta360 case leaked. Fortunately, the camera dried out and worked but it was crazy how quickly the case let in a ton of water and we weren't very deep.
It’s really tricky. Sometimes debris or even a grain of sand can get in between the seal and compromise the waterproofing.
@@360vroomers I hope they can make an idiot proof one that will seal flawlessly.
@@Pete_R63 what I do is after closing the case, I test it first in shallow water for any water intrusion.
@@360vroomers My dive buddy's started filling up in some pretty shallow water-about 6 feet deep.
@@Pete_R63 Uhuh i wouldn’t even test like that. I mean submerge it with your hands about 1 foot for a few seconds then see if theres water inside. Then try again deeper etc.
All you guys make it sound so easy but when I click the second button in dive mode a Quick Menu comes up and it does nothing.
I don’t have x3 with me right now but I believe you need to lock the screen. This will then change the functions of the buttons.
@@360vroomers What was not entiredly clear was updating the firmware on a desktop vs the app. I updated the firmware via the app but it was not enough and that is why my buttons were messed up. Once I copy and pasted the lasted BIN file onto the memory card from my desktop and then saw the options to choose the older case or the new case. All ready now for Sardinia!
@@1vegasdood congrats on solving the issue!
I have the original one so this is great news but can I ask what camera settings you use? I film at 5k 30fps and export 4k 100 bit rate, but the quality doesn’t look as nice as your samples here.
Hi Emily. Do you have a link to a sample?
Price has gone up $10 since you posted video.
Sorry to hear that. But at this price, it's still an amazing bargain imho.
$100 for a plastic case? I was going to use the X3 for the water, but I'll stick to the GoPro with the waterproof case that's affordable!
Unfortunately, gopro max has no official dive case. And this is the only waterproof case for a 360 camera that is totally invisible.
And how is the "vagina" on this one? I often attach a weight to the bottom of the case for the X2 and move it around the reef for various clips. It is very similar to the X3 housing and works well, but that plastic bottom always shows. You can edit around it with stills and crop it out with video, but it is there, yes? This (X2, X3) case is so much better than the Bubble as it is nowhere near as buoyant. The Bubble cases are very difficult to use and control them wanting to pop to the surface. The X cases aren't plexi but just plastic, so they aren't expensive. But do not scratch them. The scratch can't be buffed out like you can do with plexi, so you normally have to buy another case to make sure the scratch doesn't show up on your video/stills.
This one is ***totally*** invisible.
@@360vroomers Wow, even when placed on the reef (not on a stick)?? That would be impressive.
@@timrock01 yes anywhere. But of course if you use a tripod then the tripod legs would be visible
I think the nadir will show without a stick (i.e. just attached to a 2 lb weight and placed on the reef) but still, the housing seems to work well.
So which selfiestick is waterproof and can be used in the ocean?
Just avoid the ones made of steel. The aluminum alloy ones should be ok. Another thing is that the current of the water may exert a force on the stick so don’t extend the last (thinnest) segment.
a vagina? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice review Mic!
A littile humor that hopefully didn’t go overboard 😅
@@360vroomers Thought I heard that, but didn't process it. "This is my wife" was also a good laugh - which I didn't miss. lol
wait - maybe it really is.
@@z352kdaf8324 lol that really was my wife. I didn’t want people to think I was posting videos of random other people 😅
