@drownthepoor I was staying the weekend with a friend and we had a bunch of friends over. An old ex none of us had seen in several years came by. She hooked me onto this album that she brought. I remember waking up at 7am and listening to this out on the deck. The fog was laying across the pond. Very memorable for me. I feel in love with broken social scene at that moment.
@@burningpapersun1 The song that got me was It's All Gonna Break, but before that I loved Almost Crimes. I don't know which album I love more. The first or the second.
I'll always remember listening to You Forgot It In People from front to back for the first time when I was 16. Life-altering. And here I still am, at 37 years old.
Just wanted to say seeing you guys in Toronto during the 2000s most memorably on Toronto Island I think 2006, now at the Commodore last year. This recent tour was so amazing!! I only had a ticket for the first night. Enjoyed it so much I bought a ticket for the second night and flew solo. Loved every minute of it!! Brought me and continues to bring me so much joy. Thank you
I saw them live in Baltimore in 2008 or 2009, and it was hands down one of the best performances I've seen in my life of seeing many performances. When a record is amazing the odds of the band outdoing the record are low, in my experience. But they did it. To be 17 again back in that club would be a dream.
When I was 16 I started dating a girl who was really into BSS and a lot of other really amazing music. I saw them live in Baltimore with her, and it was such an amazing show I don't have the right words. It's when the album is so amazing, and then it's somehow manages to be better live. Lots of bands are better live than on album, but when the album is amazing the live performance has a lot to live up to. A lot of factors go into live shows though. The venue itself(matters more than you'd think), how tired are they from touring?, is the crowd feeding them the energy? I've seen a lot of bands live, and a lot of them were amazing. But top performances go to Broken Social Scene, The Dillinger Escape Plan, mewithoutYou, and Elliott Brood. If you like BSS I think you'll also like all of those bands. Except Dillinger because they are audio violence, but maybe that's your thing too.
I'll always remember the first time i heard this song.
Can you elaborate? IF not, that's okay too.
